“I lived in NYC for about 20 years, and finding good bagels in each new place I’ve migrated to since is a mission I put serious energy into. I drive 10 minutes past the other options I’ve tried in Beaverton to go to Sunrise Bagels, the quality and friendly service are worth it.“

“My favorite bagel spot in Portland, everything is delicious and the service is always super friendly. The only downside is there's no prepayment option - you can only call in to order, but then you still have to wait in the line to pay, even if your food's already ready. Worth the wait though, and the bagel sandwiches are my favorite of anywhere in the neighborhood and all of PDX!“

“Even though I travel the world touring with "my" artists, this was my first time in Portland, Oregon. Our friends booked us a personal guide (Adam Thorn Smith, highly recommended! ) who showed us around and made Yelp even sent us a message on the day like "wow - you know how to explore all hot spots on one day". So after the Japanese and Rose gardens, we took a first bite here at Henry Higgins, which was very good. I liked the ambiance, and the lady at the checkout was nice - just as you would expect from a place you go to ;-) I prefer places with tableside service - but we loved everything we had - and yes, I would even use the word great for their bagels. I will not understand, though, why my breakfast sandwich with a toasted bagel, cheese, egg, and meat and a small bag of chips was cheaper than my wife's same bagel with cream cheese and egg salad (no chips, no cheese, no meat). I generally also have a problem when places do not offer any service but take my order and make me pick up (= "over the counter-service" only), suggesting to tip the same amount as if I were in a full-service restaurant, particularly when they had charged restaurant prices in the first place ($6 for a coffee, $11 for a regular, toasted bagel with cream cheese and egg salad). Again, we liked the place, even loved the bagels, would come back - but to rate five out of five stars, "surprises" would have to be on the positive rather than negative side.“

“I don’t want to tell the world about how amazing this place is- because it will ALWAYS be slammed. But I can’t be a gatekeeper either- so here is the real deal.. my favorite combo is a Cheese Bagel with regular cream cheese & a drip coffee. The coffee is SO GOOD and the bagels are true perfection.
The crew are all awesome. So welcoming even when they are slammed. They keep it positive and have music playing, great vibes, with a fish tank the kids love, board games/couch seating area to chill out in. We tend to play a great round of battleship when we are there.
My spouse gets juice or water, and “pig newtons” (biscuit with 2 sausage links inside)
Peep the menu!! YOU MUST GO! Yes, they have a website that you can even order ahead if you don’t want to do all the people-y stuff!
Regardless, you should take your favorite person and go on a little date.“

“Portland isn't known for its bagels, but these are better than most.
Great coffee too.
Whenever I'm in the mood for a bagel and lox, this is usually my go-to.
Even better now that there's actually some parking on Broadway!“

“I've come here a couple times in between work and school for a quick bite, and I love this place! The staff are nice, the service is fast, and the food is delicious! I like breakfast bagels the best -- but jalapeño bagels are a must! And the energy spritz is a great midday pick-me-up. All in all, 5 stars from me.“

“Excellent breakfast sandwiches. It’s not the super fastest place but that’s understandable as it’s a smaller business which I always appreciate supporting. Also it’s pretty dang expensive but again it’s quality ingredients and sizable sandwiches to understandable.“

“I had been craving a lox bagel for almost thirty years, just never had a heart to order one as no one I can think of eats any type of fish, let alone lox.
Walked in, asked questions, got more than I expected. Lox are something rich, but I'll go back for other things. Highly recommended for that part of Portland.“

“We love this place! It is our go to place once a week for a mommy/daughter bagel date their turkey is amazing, bagels chewy and delicious, drinks are yummy and their desserts are mouth watering. They are always super friendly and always get our orders right. I would recommend anyone bringing their family from out of town here for a cutsie Portland vibe. Far enough from downtown, but close enough to everything. Make sure you try their everything bagel, it's the best!“
“Bagel was decent cream cheese is fake it was Newfoundland there was dirt everywhere all you have to do is look up it's completely dirty there's hair and grease everywhere if you look anything above the food line it's completely gross they should be reported to the Health Board the coffee was nasty I drank one sip through to it the bagel was decent but they need to clean and tell people that the cream cheese they're using is not cream cheese this Newfoundland I paid for more cream cheese and they put it heavy in front and then tilted it to where there was less in the middle and back so I did not get what I paid for it overall the experience left me mad for $8“
“Wow! Just wow!! I mean, did I say WOW? I went there specially for pumpkin pie. What i got was not just a pumpkin pie, it was a taste of absolute joy. Joy I say! Smooth, creamy, firm, but not too firm, a rich, utterly delicious crust that was more like layers than an actual crust. Moist through and through! When I get back down to Portland metro area again, it'll be my first place to go! You should make it YOUR first place to go to, too!! Simply wonderful!!!“

“My go-to bagel shop in town! The bagels are so good and made with sourdough, which gives them a slightly different texture than traditional NY bagels, but honestly, I prefer it this way. I usually order the Uncle Sal or Willamette sandwich on an everything bagel or the jalapeño cheddar (AMAZING). Super chill atmosphere, friendly staff, and always a great experience. A must-try!“
