I discovered this place today. It is, hands down, some of theeee best food I have eaten in Washington state. It is a spectacular blend of flavors and seasonings with 5 star presentation. My 4 year old obliterated the duck š¦ sammich!
What an unusual experience.
We saw lots of good reviews so we stopped by while on the island. What we didn't notice was that the reviews were all for lunch time and we were arriving at dinner time.
At 5pm they switch to a dinner menu that tries to be a fine dining experience and locals seemingly stop coming. Two people got up and left without ordering before we placed our order which should have been a warning to us.
The bread we ordered for the table was just the store bought loaf they use for reuben sandwiches in the afternoon, with some mediocre olive oil. Not a thoughtful pairing with clashing flavors.
The duck was extremely overcooked, with "poached" eggs actually being hard boiled.
The steak frites were a poor cut of meat that was untrimmed leading to an unpleasant eating experience.
The pork chop special tasted like the creation of a 15 year old stoner. Salt on top of salt on top of salt with no balancing flavors whatsoever.
Our server was an absolutely wonderful young man who provided impeccable service, and the atmosphere was pretty good for what they likely offer in the afternoon. Very strange in the context of a fine dining experience though.
Without a doubt you'll want to avoid this place anytime after 3pm, but perhaps you might have a decent meal if you come during their lunch service.

The service was very attentive and friendly. My food came out fast. The atmosphere was clean. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich and the brisket rueben. The chicken, while juicey on the inside and crunchy on the outside, was very tough. I may have gotten the "bad" piece of the bunch. I was glad I went over board and ordered 2 things to try because this meant I had a backup. The brisket was flavorful, and the bread was great. Servings were huge. I would come back, but I wouldn't order the chicken sandwich again.

A heartfelt thank you to Pepa, Dre, and the incredible team at Gravy for making our wedding day so special. They went above and beyond, ensuring every detail was perfect. The fried chicken and corn pudding were standout dishes that our guests couldnāt stop talking about for days!
From the initial menu planning to the big day itself, their professionalism and warm hospitality made everything flow seamlessly. Weāre beyond grateful to have had Pepa and her team cater our wedding. If you're planning a wedding or special event on Vashon, we can't recommend Gravy highly enough!

Not worth the hype at all. Awful customer service. Owner is hella rude. No hospitality whatsoever. Over priced food. They burnt my food when they warmed it up. The āsaladā was a bed of lettuce. I highly not recommend this place. Didnāt even check on us.

Order at the register restaurant, with southern style food. The pulled pork was delicious, but get there on the earlier side, as they can sell out. A lovely experience!

We had a BLT and Cool Ranch Chicken sandwich. Did not ever think I had to come to Vashon from Houston to have one of the best BLTs ever.

This place has the best fried chicken Iāve ever had. The latkas are amazing as well. Everything we tried was great. Everything tastes fresh and homemade. I would eat here everyday if I could.

Tried the brisket reuben, and the roasted turkey. Both were SO greasy we threw most of it away.
Ordered as takeout and took 5 minutes down the road and ate fresh at a baseball game. The brisket was super fatty. About half the "meat" was pure fat chunk. The turkey itself was good, but the Sami is grilled in butter, or oil and it wad sopping wet.
I was so disappointed. At $42 for 2 semi's (and no sides) I was dissaponted to ahev it be almost in-edible.
