“We Love Ruby Brink! Burger night—say no more…! The beef dip sandwich on the lunch menu is another favorite. We love eating here for so many reasons though. This isn’t a “high staff turnover” type restaurant where you’ll be greeted by stressed out workers plastered with fake smiles fighting over tables like you might be used you. This is a grown-up establishment with grown-up food and grown-up and experienced, competent and empowered staff and I appreciate how this dynamic expressed itself in terms of guest experience. When I say that the food is grown-up I mean that it is carefully selected and prepared from scratch and this means it does not taste like what other restaurants are doing, which often is buying bags of frozen soup and sauces from the chef supply store to keep costs down and to keep everything tasting exactly the same, every time. You will taste different things here and that might surprise you. Ready yourself for that and enjoy!”

(And I work at a place that sells pastries) prices are incredibly reasonable and the quality of the ingredients and presentation is off the hook. New best place ever to meet friends in the morning for a quiet conversation. If the weather is nice that back patio is incredible.”

“Pizzeria Mario on Vashon Island has such a cool vibe! The red-themed decor really sets the mood—red walls, red couch, and even a red stand mixer. I loved how you can watch them make the pizza right in front of you. I took my slice to go and totally forgot to take a picture, but it was absolutely delicious! A great little spot to check out if you're in the area.”

“I am a bagel loving lady. Born in Jackson Heights Queens NY City; bagels are in my blood. The bagels here are NYC best quality. They have the shiny outside, the correct twist, the complex flavor. All perfect. I went back to NYC and ate a bagel from Zabar’s in Grand Central Station; total disappointment. Came running home to Vashon to have a proper bagel at Little Cup. Oh yes, the atmosphere is awesome and the people are even better.”

“Came across Pollard while Googling local, small coffee roasters, and I'm so happy I did! Definitely one of our favorite coffees, been getting Pollard for a while now and it has never disappointed 😄 We always get compliments back when we gift Pollard coffee and their customer service is awesome! Have fun with the custom blend option, it's a nice feature, especially when giving as a gift ☕”

“Andrew Will makes some of the finest wines around. The winery iteself is beautifully tucked away in central Vashon. If you're coming for a visit, I'd suggest planning to do so in the late Spring or early Summer when the weather is more ideal. The owners are extremely nice and they are wonderful members of our community on Vashon. You can find their wines @ Thriftway!”

“Visiting friends in Seattle, we were suggested in visiting Vashoon island and it's cool spots and this is definitely one of them.

After exploring the island a bit, we wanted to grab something to eat and stop at this cool shop. You will encounter essentially two eateries in one commercial spot but it's great that they each work together to make entertaining each other's store simply by walking through a walkway between them.

As far as food options it won't be extensive but it does have some great, unique options. I tried their chicken with teriyaki sauce plate and boy was it good. They also have great local alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks available, some bottled, canned or even on tap. Seating can be tricky especially during peak hours or seasons so plan accordingly and just be patient. If you're waiting, just take a step outside and walk into some of the great independent shops next door or across the street. Parking may also be a challenge so read signs carefully to avoid getting a ticket or towed.

Overall, a great spot to grab a drink and a quick bite to eat mid day to break up your adventures on Vashoon.”

“I went here with some friends while visiting the area. They have gluten-free options and the sweet potato fries were in a separate gluten-free fryer. I had the gluten-free buttermilk fried chicken (they offer grilled chicken too) and sweet potato fries. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean and the food was fresh. It was our server’s first day serving and she was great, getting all of our questions answered and our orders right. Everything was great!”

“The 1 star reviews here are due to political beliefs that the restaurant has showing, and not of the actual food itself so that is why you see a 50/50 split on the reviews. You either love it the food (it’s actually good) or you disagree with the owners posters and slap a 1 star review. His burgers and fries are good and about $10 cheaper than the place across the street. You may not agree with the owners politics but his food is good.”
