Huge fan of Hattaway's on Alder, especially as someone who is gluten free. Service from the moment we walked in the door was amazing. Extremely friendly and attentive staff, while also knowledgeable about the menu. The crispy rice & tallow blackened tuna, celery parmesan salad, and clams & sausage would bring me back on another visit to Walla Walla. Parking right outside is easily accessible. Made reservations in advance for a wine tasting trip with another couple on Valentine's Day. Two of us ordered the halibut cheeks that were unfortunately overcooked and rubbery (for $39!). There were no complaints about the other two dishes (spätzle and steelhead), but there wasn't any raving either. It was good food, but nothing that knocked our socks off after a day of wine tasting. It was an expensive meal for an underwhelming experience.
In Walla Walla with local family at Christmas time and they made us a reservation for 8. It was busy. Alexa was our server. She was soft spoken, offered us suggestions with adult bevy's, apps, and dinner. Alexa was very pleasant and offered our group the best service. We all drank, ate, and chatted for a bit. The food was excellent.
We will return for a dinner.
