We came here for dinner after hearing several positive reviews, only to be tragically disappointed. My daughter was served undercooked chicken—just this side of raw—then her replacement pasta came complete with a long dark hair. When I approached the manager I was told “well mistakes are going to happen.” No apology. The rest of the food was overpriced and poor quality. We’d been told it was fine French cooking and most of it came out of a bag. Completely unprofessional and, frankly, unsafe. There was no zero or half-star option.

Opentable Diner

Nice place aesthetically, Samantha was our server and she was great. When we walked in for our reservation, we were rudely told the place was full, and when we said the app let us make a reservation even though they were full we were told that it would. We should have just left, but Samantha and another server put us at a table and the place never filled up by the time we left. Wine was ok, food mediocre.

Guitarist was so loud that talking was very difficult. Probably did not need an amp. Background music would have been fine but this was dining during a concert. Food was mediocre at best. Wish we had gone somewhere else. No plans to return.

The winery is prepared for food, wine tasting, and a full bar of hard liquor drinks, which is unusual for a winery. We had a large group for dinner after a long work day which was nice. The service was friendly and timely. Joe was great to work with and took good care of us. The food wasn’t lovely-prime rib arrived with an end piece. I ordered medium and it was overdone. Usually when an end piece is served the restaurant asks a customer if they want an end pice. I found it dry and tough and I was disappointed.

The atmosphere was lovely with a 3 piece jazz band and the location is an open environment with high ceilings. It was welcoming.

People could choose from their wine as well as hard drinks, but their best wine was wine-club members only (Cabernet Franc) so we found someone to join the club to get the better wine, which was worth it! Overall, I would come again. Not sure if the food quality was due to two large groups at once, or not, but that was the only disappointment.

We were excited for our Valentine's dinner. Our server, Dixie, was very nice, but our table was no where near her other tables, so we received our salads and then did not see her for over 30 minutes. There were other wait staff in our section but they never even looked at our table, our empty plates, empty wine glasses and mostly empty water glasses. We did try to get one's attention who was filling water glasses at his tables in our section, so we could get some more water, but he ignored our signaling. When Dixie returned she was apologetic. Our entrees arrived, the serving size was modest to say the least. I ordered Beef Wellington, my favorite, which was described as “a pan seared filet...” then the usual Wellington construction. I was very surprised to find a ground meat “meatloaf” in the phyllo wrapper. It was seasoned well and cooked appropriately, but not a pan seared filet. The duck confit which my husband had was dry and under seasoned, I could not tell when I tried it that it was duck. Dessert was also very modest in size, but flavorful. Dixie checked with the chef on the Wellington, he said he did not mean to mislead anyone, but yes, it was ground meat. She also felt badly that our service had been slow due to her table assignments and comped us one glass of wine which was nice of her. The meals were $85 each, plus wine, taxes, gratuities- we did not feel that we received food of that value and doubt that we will return.

Complete horrible experience. We made reservations couple week in advance hoping to be memorable experience for mine wife and I for our valentine date but it turn the worst experience . From the moment we walked in not one staff smile or friendly. The meal is also pre selected and they still managed to messed up, it take over a hour for our meal to served.. There is at least 2 other couples came after us and they meal is served before us . The food came out cold and blend . Definitely not worth the time and money to be here at chateau faire

Never had an experience quite like tonight. The “prime beef filet” wellington was literally hamburger. To be fair it was tasty, almost but not quite as tasty as my wife's meatloaf, but seriously what are we doing here. The service was nice and the live music was fun. But I have never experienced anything like a restaurant trying to pass something off so brazenly and to do it on a “special” fixed menu on Valentine's Day. I may go back out of morbid curiosity to see what else they try to do, but life is too short lol

My party consisted of 1 male and 2 females all in our 70s. We were sat at a high table with tall chairs that were hard and uncomfortable to get up on and sit on for very long. The waitress was pleasant but was clearly new and had trouble explaining the menu. The stroganoff was not great, the scallops were good. We expected more higher-end dishes, not common overpriced sandwiches. When we arrived, it was fairly quiet and conversation was easy till the music started and we couldn't hardly hear each other over the music and the other people around us raising their voices as well. Overall after spending over $200 for that experience we won't be returning, and we keep asking ourselves, why can't they get it right in this town?

Caesar salad and grilled chicken was excellent.

It was a quiet evening and a lovely special occasion dinner. French onion soup was outstanding. We have had good experiences before and this was as well. The prime rib dip sandwich was the best I've ever had! This is a beautiful setting for a table for two or for a large group. I give it 5 stars for sure!

Such a beautiful building with historical presence. The food is always delicious with great presentation. The menu is not overwhelming with items, but they have it honed down to a dish that everyone will be happy with. We were told that Chateau has obtained it's liquor license and will soon be serving cocktails. It's a great restaurant and winery for special celebrations and events.

This review is for the Grill and Winery: Delicious food, well prepared, generous servings, attentive staff, and live music too... can't believe we were not aware of this restaurant before! The squash soup with coconut was among the very best things I've ever eaten. Oh, and the wines are good too – we did a tasting before dinner, then picked a favorite and ordered a bottle to go with our dinner. Love Washington reds! We look forward to returning to Chateau Faire Le Pont.
