We got take out. Lured by the reviews and the James Beard award. We made a special detour through Yakima because H remembered going there when she was little. We tried the asparagus tamales and the chicken tamales with a couple of home made salsas. It was delicious. It is worth the detour and next time I fly that way, I will stop by Yakima Air Terminal to get the tamales!
One of the best tamales I’ve ever had in my life. So moist and tasty. Oh the salsa… You know the salsa is good when it makes you sweat! Don’t think twice before ordering it’s that good!
When I come to Yakima to float the river 2x a year, a stop at Los Hernandez is a must!! Their tamales are excellent and so tasty. When it is offered you must get the asparagus and cheese and also the jalapeño and cheese for a spicy bite, but the standby favorites of pork or chicken are always good!
