“Von Stiehl is hands-down the best winery in Door County—technically Kewaunee County, but they outshine them all. Their wines are consistently exceptional, with a balance and character that rival anything I’ve tasted across the country. I was heartbroken to hear their Frambois was discontinued—it was truly one of my all-time favorites—but every bottle I’ve tried from them has been outstanding.
I’ve visited wineries from California to the East Coast, and I’d still rank Von Stiehl easily in my top ten nationwide. The quality, care, and craftsmanship are unmistakable, and the sense of history behind every bottle makes the experience even richer. Wisconsin should be proud to have a winery of this caliber—Von Stiehl is a true gem.
Pictures include some of my first visits back in 2006 thru 'modern times'. Lol
(and I WOULD PAY $50...or more, not sure what my ceiling would be...for a bottle of the aged-in-oak Frambois!! ☺️)“
