“Not sure why this place isn't rated higher. The food here is the closest you'll get to a proper Korean BBQ restaurant north of Milwaukee. It has some proper Korean side dishes, all of the traditional and favorite cuts you're used to at a KBBQ. Their recent addition of sushi is also solid. No. I wouldn't go there explicitly for the sushi as there are better sushi joints in the area, but it compares very favorably to Akame and Sushi Lover, the other AYCE options in the valley. Molo, the only other competitor, is inferior in several ways, not the least of which is that every side dish in the place tastes like 9 lbs of sugar was dumped into it, and the ones that aren't are not made to order and are incredibly bland. The BBQ itself there is actually not bad, however, everything else that makes a KBBQ restaurant what it is does not exist there, and that is often the most important part. People who are not used to these types of restaurants: Order the lettuce leaves, the steamed white rice, and several sauces. You're supposed to take the meat, grill it, put it with rice, whatever other veggies/sauces you want, and then eat them as little hand rolls. Stop cooking completely unseasoned meat, shoving it in your mouth and then calling it bland. Obviously that will be bland, just like if you grilled a steak at home and splashed some soy sauce on it and wonder why it's bland.“

“One of the best meals I have had in a while of this particular type of cuisine. My husband and I absolutely love experiencing all different kinds of food from everywhere. We recently relocated to the Appleton area after living 20 years in Wausau. One of the harder parts of leaving was losing all of the local small business places we frequented because we knew that their food was authentic and delicious. I happened upon Ong’s kitchen, just by exploring the area close to our house. I hadn’t yet had a chance to try it when a friend who lives here highly recommended it. I stopped in for lunch the other day and got the rice vermicelli noodle bowl. Which is a favorite of mine! Minus being to brave for my own level of spice 😝🥵 that I added(not the restaurants fault at all)….. it was a dish that reminded me of one of my favorite places that we had back in our old city. In fact, I am making my Husband get takeout from there today because I’m excited to try what else they offer. I am truly happy that this is one of the very first places that we found and we will be repeat customers. I’m sure you’ll even see my children in there because Pho & egg rolls are some of their favorites!! Thank you for sharing your delicious food with our community! “I went today around 4:30 & was pleasantly surprised with how sweet & kind the people are who work here. I had a-couple questions due to it being my first time here and I have never had boba. The girls answered every question I had & were incredibly kind to me. Definitely will be coming back :)“
