This is a very cool spot on the river -- IF you are outside. Inside vibes are kind of depressing. Wine was OK not great, pizza was solid. However, the service was weird/terrible. Felt like the servers were irritated that we were there. Not sure I would go back.

If you're not educated about wine, this is the place to go!

Mondo has it all! It's a great place to get a quick glass of wine, or sit down and enjoy a nice meal and get a bottle of wine or two to take home with you! Don't forget to try some dessert. Jane and David are wonderful and knowledgeable as well as the rest of their staff.

This place is wonderful. Whether you’re looking for dinner, a small bite, a glass or two of wine, or just simply want to pick up a few bottles, this is the place. The staff and owners are so kind and knowledgeable, the food is delicious, and the wine selection is outstanding. You’ll find loads of unique small producers at affordable prices and won’t be disappointed. The location right on the river makes it even better.

Loved the wine. Lots of good selections! The service was also good. The food however is just bad. I've eaten here a couple of times and was not impressed with anything in the menu. The pizza is horrible. Taste like cheap frozen pizza with some parmesian on it. The bread on the sandwiches seemed old and didnt taste very good. Ended up just leaving the bread behind and eating the meat in the middle.

I didn't think MONDO! could be any better than it was when it was downtown, but boy was I wrong! They took everything that was already great about the place, knowledgeable, friendly service and an affordable wine list that is second to none, and plopped it down in a sweet, sweet location next to a river (Hence, MONDO on the River.) But that's not all! They have at least doubled the inside space and have FOOD! It used to be you could have some nice drinks and nibbles, but now they've chef-prepared meals - so there's no need to eat beforehand or travel someplace else for dinner. Food is fab, drinks are fab, location is fab. Every box checked for the perfect night out - you can even book a space for your holiday party, from what I understand. We go there every time we're in town. Can't wait for our next trip back!

Tl;dr Just visit; it's worth it!

Mondo! on the River is a fantastic place to find affordable wines that sometimes branch beyond known varietals. David and Jane's experience lend to a fantastic lineup of wine every time.

Having grown into their new place, my wife and I decided to give the food a try. The menu is both simple and complex, but delicious nonetheless. I tried the mussels and ordered some amazing ala carte cheese options. My wife had the Italian Sammie. I won't spoil the surprise, but they both were amazing. I love the new concept they have going.

Oh, and the views. So much better than College Ave.!!! We visited in the summer a few times. Being able to watch the water flow over the dam and sip some wine is how I want to spend every day.

There are several wine bar options in this area, Mondo! is one that should top your list .

Kid-friendliness: I've seen kids brought here before but the environment and food selection isn't one I would consider bringing a kid to. There's not much to keep them entertained and it's not commonplace to see kids here.

If you have the opportunity to go to wine camp it's so fun to learn and experience the wine they share.

I've been a big fan and regular of Mondo for a number of years now, and I'm so pleased to see them doing so well in their new location in the Atlas building. It's still a challenge to find a really good plate or bowl of pasta in the Fox Valley, and I'm pleased to say that Mondo's kitchen is filling that gap! Pasta is made fresh in-house, and both the mushroom and spinach spaghetti and the tomato and fennel confit (think penne, but with some ricotta cheese blended into the dough) are seriously on-point, as are the PEI mussels!

We have been a consistent Mondo! patron for years. But now that they have moved to Mondo! On the River, we are even more ecstatic because they have food! The food is sooo good. We have always loved their pizzas and nibbles, but the introduction of amazing pasta dishes (love the mushroom one), their sandwiches (paired with a nice salad and the veggie sammie is to die for), and we even had a great order of mussels with a white wine sauce. Love the space, the service, and the prices! I love the at it is casual dining and the wine always comes with a story!

Manager was rude and condescending. Had been there once before and thought it was a nice jewel in Appleton, however I will never patronize this establishment again.
