Lunch on the run. Burger basket and shrimp basket. Tasty.
Awesome little place to stop for food! We wanted to eat on the patio, but it was technically closed. Doc's Pub and Eatery serves great food, including fish fry, club sandwiches, prime rib sandwiches, soups, and a salad bar. The restaurant is particularly known for its good pizza, which stands out in the area where many other bars serve only frozen thin crust pizza. Customers have praised the food quality, noting that it is better than expected for a bar in Polk County. However, some meals like pizza may have crust issues, and service can be slow, especially on Saturday mornings. The place is quiet and kid-friendly, with plenty of parking and wheelchair accessibility. Be aware that on Friday and Saturday mornings, breakfast is only available until 1:00 p.m., which can be disappointing for those craving a mushroom & Swiss burger or similar breakfast items. The staff may sometimes seem a bit crabby, but overall, visitors enjoy the good food and relaxed atmosphere.
