Found this place by chance while in Beaver Dam for the Arts & Peony Festival. Enjoyed lunch on the patio. Table service wss fine but it took a long time for our food to come out. The carne asada was delicious and plentiful. My cousin ordered a burrito and said it was bland. She also ordered a strawberry margarita and was not impressed (said the tequila was harsh and bitter).
We have eaten at a lot of Mexican restaurants, and Palenque is probably one of the top 5 best Mexican restaurants we have been to. Everything was hot and fresh, and their margaritas were super yummy! It was really busy, but our server was very attentive and we got our food rather quickly.
The place is pretty nice inside. The decor and the service was great.
The food was good as well, I was hesitant because I’m from Florida and I don’t usually go to Mexican restaurants that north, but I was not disappointed. The food was good. The fajitas were great. The waiter was very nice and we have some strawberry margaritas.
