My husband and I LOVE going to the Rookery Pub at the Cable Nature Lodge! We started staying at the Cable Nature Lodge prior to getting married and continue to do so! My husband and I ate at The Rookery last night after an afternoon of x-country skiing. We sat at the bar. The food was terrific. The diners at the other end of the bar recommend the Caesar salad. It's not easy finding vegetarian entrees or interesting flavor combinations in a north woods supper club, but the Rookery provides. Our favorite dish was the bluegill with soba noodles and wakame - called an appetizer, but would easily work as an entree. The bluegill were delicate and flavorful.
