Old world Wisconsin is a great experience but has a lot less hands on experiences than when I went there as a kid.
Global kitchen you did not learn about the things listed on the website and they send you to the garden with no directions of what to do and where to go from there. My students had a hard time saying what they learned from this program. I think they used to make butter.
Pioneer power was more interactive when making rope, exploring house tools, and hands on experience...
I had an amazing day at Old World Wisconsin. It is very clean, easy access to water on a hot day and the trams are super easy to get around to the different areas on. The interpreters were all very friendly and so knowledgeable! Everyone of them seems like they love their job and it shows. All friendly staff made for a very nice day.
I haven't been here since 1981, it was great then and looks like it might have gotten better. It is similar to what Silver Dollar City was when it opened in 1960, but it has remained a historical park, representing the many cultures that came to America through a collection of authentic buildings that have been relocated from other areas in Wisconsin. I sure hope they stay this way and never ruin it by becoming an amusement park.
