The Joynt is the coolest bar on Water Street. It should be on the National Registry of Historic Places, too. I had the pleasure of meeting Odetta once when she was in Minneapolis promoting the Stillwater Jazz Festival and we talked about the Joynt, which she had played at a decade before.

The Joynt is a classic dive bar with a rich history, boasting a stage that once hosted jazz legends. The bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable, serving a selection of regional craft beers and tap beer in 8-ounce glasses for a buck and a half. The venue is cash-only, with a relaxed vibe that allows dogs and features a unique barber chair by the door. With its stained glass windows, ceiling fans, and eclectic decor, The Joynt is a beloved spot that will either be loved or hated, but never forgotten.
