Delicious treats and a step back in time. Nostalgia for your eyes and tastebuds. I hear their whip cream is the good stuff. A Sunday on a Sunday… yes please!
Great atmosphere and a must stop for the kids and adults! Cedar crest ice cream 🍦
Soda fountain and above average quantity chocolates. Worth checking out.
Great place, great location, great ice cream
Been going here for 4 years and never had a problem with portions, but the last two or three month, the portions for my family are always smaller than what we see others get or supposed to be. We always walk lake street, east street and back to the ice cream shop and our ice cream always last the whole route and now they only last to the lake.
Ice cream is great and I'm sure the fudge is awesome too.
It's a fun place to stop. Not only stop, but stop with what you're doing and enjoy the history of Gassert's!!! Shakes and ice cream are great!!!
Metal malt cup, just like the old days. Love it!
Such a quaint ice cream shop! Pleasant staff. I loved the atmosphere and old time booths.

I was in town for the GT races at Road America and I had to stop for ice cream. You cannot get ice cream like this back home in New Jersey. Highly recommend this stop if you ever come to Elkhart

Since when can you not select the ice cream flavors on your banana split? Placed my order and was waiting for the server to come back to get my choices, but instead she returned with a complete banana split made with the basic chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla ice cream. I asked her why she didn’t ask what ice cream flavors I wanted, she told me that you don’t get to choose on a banana split. I replied that I always have before and again was told that I could not choose. That, plus the snippy cashier who snatched the money out of my hand but couldn’t smile or barely mumble a thank you made for a very unpleasant visit. Strange how I was later able to find a photo taken there a few years back where the banana split clearly was NOT made with chocolate/strawberry/vanilla ice cream.
Everything was great and the staff was great and I visited them at least a dozen times while I was in the area
