“This is one of the best restaurants in Elkhart Lake, no lie. Elkhart Lake, in general, is a sleeper town for great food. That's what I discovered when I visited last fall. There are so many amazing, unassuming restaurants serving great food. Amasa is one of them. You wouldn't think Elkhart Lake would be a good place to get Mexican food ... but you'd be wrong. The head chefs at Amasa are from Mexico City, and they are serving the food from their hometown. I ate a birria taco that was probably one of the best I've had anywhere. And I don't throw around the words "best" and "tacos" lightly. You see, I'm Mexican, as well, so my standards for Mexican food are very high. This Mexican food at Amasa is legit. I also had a chile con carne appetizer that came with tortilla chips (amazing!), a spicy salad with apples and pepinos (refreshing!), and meatballs (so tender!). Of course, I could have just eaten birria tacos all day. You should know: There is a brick-and-mortar restaurant, but Amasa also has a food truck parked in the back of the restaurant that sells an abbreviated version of their Mexican menu. You'll find tacos, flautas, brunch plates and desserts. There's also a cute little outdoor patio area where you can hang out and eat.”
“So good that as we ate our soup and sandwiches, my friend and I began planning our trip to revisit the area again soon, despite living an hour away. We had the chicken mushroom wild rice soup and the tomato basil- both worth every penny. Their bread is worthy of buying a loaf to go. The pullman sandwich was a little heavy on condiments, but exceptionally tasty nonetheless. The atmosphere and service provided rivals the very best of restaurants I've ever visited. Can't wait to visit again soon!”
“Went there for the first time. This is a Roman pizza dough restaurant and it is fantastic. They have a large selection of different flavors of pizza including a beef Marsala pizza. The staff is very alert to your needs. Revisit the table several times to see if you need anything. The ambiance is very nice and lot of different wine bottles on the walls. Lights are low thats why my photos are dark.”
“Nostalgic, quaint, friendly and yummy! The ice cream flavors are amazing and the taste get the waffle cone! They have decadent chocolates ? too and a retro candy section —-step inside and some historical signs and cute place to sit. Love it.”
“Charming little diner Went here for breakfast and had a French toast with bacon and eggs. Also we a steak And eggs. The French toast was nothing like a real French toast and the steak was ok. The food arrived and everyone was very nice, There was an awesome Christmas tree and some other minor decorations. Great little diner!”
“We stopped in for a Friday night dinner with our two children. There was some seating available since it was the off-season for tourism. The giant pretzel, served with beer cheese and brown mustard for dipping, was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Delicious! Buffalo cauliflower was roasted to perfection with just enough spice. My daughter and I had the build-your-own chicken sandwich which was just great, too. I especially liked it’s toasted ciabatta bun. My husband enjoyed his southwest chicken sandwich, and my son loved his cheeseburger. I would add that the staff were super friendly, and the blueberry cider was awesome, too. We love the variety of food options here. A wonderful dinner all around!”
“This is one of my favorite local breweries. A must-stop if you are in Elkhart Lake. It is a kid friendly environment. There are board games to play as well. We ordered a massive pretzel, which came with three sauces. The wait staff was kind and helpful.”
“Went here for lunch with some friends, got in even before they were opened and the bar tender was super cool. Food was great and was surprised to see the burgers were on special! Can wait to go back!”
“I visited Vintage Elkhart Lake multiple times when I was in the area! It's a great place to get a glass of wine (or two or three), because they have a Wine-o-Matic, which is a magical device that dispenses tastes or full glasses of wine from a selection in the machine. The way it works is that you tell the people behind the counter that you want to do the wine tasting, and then you add an amount of money onto a card. A small taste of wine might cost anywhere from $1 to $3, and a full glass might range from $3 to $6 or more, depending on the bottle. What I love about this system (the Wine-o-Matic) is that I can take my time, look at all of the options, process what I've looked at, and make a decision about what I want to drink without having to speak to anyone. This is a wine-loving introvert's dream! The lounge area where the Wine-o-Matic is located is very comfy -- there are couches and tables, as well as little nibbles available. I loved dispensing my wine into my glass, and then sitting back and enjoying the wine while relaxing in a comfortable and comfy room. The wine tasting room is a separate room from the rest of the store, so it was quiet while I was there, which I appreciated.Like I said, I visited Vintage a couple of times while I was in Elkhart Lake. One of the times, I visited to buy some local beer. They have individual cans, so you can create your own six-pack. They (of course) have Spotted Cow. There are also all kinds of gourmet food items, kitchen things and gifts. This is a really neat place to hang out or find a gift for the wine- or beer-loving person in your life.”
“You MUST taste the Prime Rib Sandwich!!! It is INCREDIBLE! (At least, we loved it!) It comes with homemade chips, that are also delicious! And the best part in my opinion: the gluten free bun is really tasty!”
“We enjoyed turkey pot pie soup, delicious burgers, a side of fries, and my old fashioned drink. Everything was amazing. We now have our go-to burger place!Thank you Meghan for exceptional service!!”
“If you can get a seat out on the patio, then do it. You'll be looking out onto Elkhart Lake while eating some tasty food. It doesn't really get better than that. Unfortunately, I didn't get a seat out on the patio because it was hella cold the day that I visited. Instead, I dined inside the warm and eclectically decorated dining room at The Social. There's a popcorn machine in one corner. Church glass and electronic slots machines in another corner. Leather couches and a bar that takes up one whole side of the room. To enter the joint, you need to walk down a flight of stairs and walk in as though you're entering a dungeon. It's kinda dark and cozy and relaxing in The Social. It's a nice vibe. They have a great lunch and dinner menu, as well as snacks and drinks at the bar. I was here one morning for a breakfast buffet, which I think is not typically served on most days, but you might want to check their menu. I also had a fabulous steak dinner one evening, with a pumpkin soup and double chocolate brownie for dessert. Every single thing I put in my mouth was divine, including the signature Old Fashioned.”
“Went there in August for my 23rd birthday. Was a fun environment and the bartenders were attentive and nice. SOO many wasps so just beware. Ask for a lid for your drink so you don’t get bees in it.”
“I've not only loved consistently dining at this restaurant with my husband and in-laws, but have also felt very supported and valued as a server here. The chefs truly do a fantastic job creating tasty and quality dishes, and the array of options on the menu makes for a unique experience every time. Lynn was a wonderful manager to work for, and a wonderful hostess to my family whenever we've dined, always treating us with kindness and respect. She truly cares about all of her customers and employees, and you can really feel that with how delicious the food is!10/10 recommend!”
“Awesome resort, Came here for two nights and the place was awesome clean and cozy. There were lots of things to explore like arcade. The arcade was very nice especially the air hokey and pin ball. The room was clean and very big with everything just like an apartment building. There even was upstairs. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant was ok. Overall I'd recommend this to everyone.”
“Exceptional lunch today with friends! The apps were amazing and our selections for main dishes did not disappoint! Generous portions and fast friendly service. Highly recommend!Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs.”
“The appetizers at Concourse might be my favorite thing that I ate! I like to enjoy little tastes of a lot of food, and that's what I was able to do with some of the appetizers here. I tried the firecracker shrimp (amazing breading), the Italian meatballs (swimming in wonderfully tomatoey sauce), and another appetizer that I didn't catch the name of but I devoured anyway. Everything I ate was excellent. The appetizers were all nicely presented, too, so everything looked as delicious as it tasted. Dinner was lobster bisque with a puffed pastry on top (deliciously briny and comforting), a Caesar salad and Alaskan halibut. The fish was flaky and perfectly cooked -- it literally felt like it melted in my mouth. It was served in a tomato relish. The service here is top-notch! Water was refilled promptly, and the servers were very friendly. The dining room lighting is soft and mellow. My dinner experience was great, and I'd definitely visit Concourse again when I'm in the Elkhart Lake area.”
“I visited for breakfast, and my experience was excellent. Otto's offers your typical American breakfast foods -- biscuits and gravy, pancakes, egg dishes, etc. -- and excellent coffee. I like a light breakfast, so I got the avocado toast, which came with two poached eggs, tomato slices and arugula. It was more than enough, and with a little sprinkle of hot sauce, it was great. The side of potatoes that I ordered really hit the spot, though. The breakfast potatoes are more like steak fries: perfectly brown and crispy on the outside, and soft and mealy on the inside. The service was great and quick. They do that thing here where the servers don't write down your order, and instead they just listen to you and you hope they get it right. But my server got it right, so maybe they know what they're doing here at Otto's Restaurant at The Osthoff Resort.”
“It was delicious I got the spicy skillet w/bacon instead of sausage. It was excellent!! Fast, coffee was on point. Fresh avocado, warm bakery bread. Can’t ask for better! ?Parking: Plenty of parking around the whole building.Kid-friendliness: Family breakfast”
“Awesome reception for my 1st visit. I immediately knew the food was amazing. Noon on a weekday and everyone had food. For once my search for best steak sandwich was absolutely correct.”
“Really nice little corner diner. We’ve been there a few times and their breakfast are delicious! The omelets are big and tasty. The waitresses there are also a hoot and make breakfast out a fun time. Defiantly worth stopping here again!”
“Love the good, service, and the owner is the best person ever!! This place is so great it will become your new hang out. Family oriented and everyone knows everyone. They all make the experience one to remember and truly embody the small town family joint that you know you will be remembered and treated like family.”
“I love this place. Great doughnuts at very reasonable prices. Excellent seven layer bars. My husband loves the sugar cookies and my son loves the chocolate long johns. It's so neat that they also have ice cream. The ice cream is really good. The prices are great for that also. Plenty of parking on the street. I actually like this location much better. My favorite thing about Hartman's is that they are open on Sundays. Most bakeries aren't these days.”
“Bluegill, Perch, Cod, fried mushrooms all very good. Coleslaw, potato pancakes, old fashions, also very good. Warm and friendly. Will be back again soon for sure.Vegetarian options: Lots of fried veggies and a salad. I made do.”
“05/2018AWESOME pizza! I love the crust, the toppings, the cheese... the amount was so filling. The only thing that tops it all are the AWESOME staff! Friendly, professional & welcoming...I see why all the phenomenal reviews. If you haven't been here yet, give them a try, you won't be sorry, we weren't!02/20245+ years later, and they're still the absolute BEST! My family & I are in complete love with them? ?”
“Jenn has been amazing. She tracked me down by phone when my email suddenly started restricting her communications. She adjust pick up times and overall had amazing responses. The cake was just what we wanted and was amazing!”
“I'm a local who has always heard their food was good but have never gone. Went tonight for their Thurs night $2.50 burgers, with the adult kids. We were not disappointed! Drinks were good & friendly bartenders! Had plain tater tots, delish! We will be back for tater bowls and more!”
“The partnership with the people who work here is astounding. I always, always appreciate it when I see “head chef” and others work together so well. Ate for lunch and had coffee w/pastries to go. Food came out quick and hot. Almost zero wait time. The white chocolate raspberry mocha needs to stay as a signature drink. It was so so good. Coming back for more!”
“Growing up in the area my parents and I were curious to see The Hub Studio Cafe as we remember going to Laacks when the grocery store was still there. This is a small space designed for small gatherings - I wouldn't recommend bringing your party of twelve for lunch. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. You order at the counter - I'd love to see this switch to table service but understand that staffing may prevent that. The food was delicious. My mom and I both had the Moo Melt - great blend of flavors, lots of cheese. Possibly a bit too much cheese as it overwhelms the beef. My dad had the Chris' Lunch Sammie and thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband had a cup of soup and a salad and enjoyed both. We finished our meal with the salted caramel white chocolate chip cookies - don't skip these! Overall this was a delicious meal and we would stop again. I do think the prices are a bit high for the location; lunch (three sandwiches and a cup of soup/salad) for four people without anything to drink besides water was over $60. This is Johnsonville and that seems high for the area. It won't stop us from going back but it is something to be aware of before you go.”
“We few friends of mine and I drove from out of town to try this place based off a recommendation. We were blown away!!! The service was incredible. All the food was delicious. The hanger steak was the most tender steak I've ever tasted. More than worth the drive.”
