We were there on Thursday night 10/9/25. Our server was great and was very attentive. We had a 6:00 reservation and seated immediately. My wife had seafood vol AU Vent which was just delicious, the shrimp, lobster and scallops were perfect and the lobster cream sauce could be used for anything it was so good. I had the pork chop Chloe, it’s a pork chop pocketed with prosciutto ham, fontina, fontinella and provolone, omg, it was so good. I had an old fashion and my wife had the prosecco. We were here for the first time even though going to door county for years and it’s on our list to stop every year, we will be back

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID! For the life of my I cannot fathom how this place has as high of a rating as it does. This may have been one of the worst meals I've had the misfortune of having in a restaurant. We came with my husband and two friends on our most recent Door County trip. To start I called weeks ago for a reservation only for us to show up and be told they don't have us on the books. I get that mistakes happen, and we're a patient group in general, but there was zero apology. They were able to get us in, but we waited 38 minutes. Okay, fine, it's a busy Friday night. We ordered five appetizers: the scallops, seared tuna, baked brie, artichoke and gorgonzola dip and a steak tenderloin on special (we're a pretty big foodie group). The seared tuna and gorgonzola dip were decent, the scallops had no sear, the steak tenderloin was so so (the guacamole that came on the side outshone the meat) and the brie was so abysmal we didn't eat it. It was covered in so much fruit and was overall cold. Then we ordered entrees, which came with soup or salad. That night they offered beef barley and lobster bisque. The beef barley was alright, but the lobster bisque was so disgusting we couldn't eat it. It was watery, flavorless and grainy. I had the shrimp scampi and the rest of the group ordered steaks: the filet mignon, the cowboy ribeye and the gorgonzola filet. The filets were fine but nothing special, which is a little frustrating when you're paying higher prices. The cowboy ribeye was such a poor cut that it was more fat than steak. The shrimp was so so, but the pasta was incredibly overcooked. The green beans that came on the side of each of our dishes were so sad and squishy we didn't touch them after that first taste. The chocolate martinis were also disappointing - they were watery and lacked a full rich chocolate flavor leaving a lot of to be desired. Our server (I cannot remember his name) did a good job, which is the only reason why I'm not giving this a one-star review, but we could tell he was stressed and busy. When you're a steak house, the servers should be granted time to fully dedicate time to their tables, but we do not fault him at all. If you're looking for a genuine quality meal in Door County, Alexander's is not it.

We went to Alexander’s while in Door County for our anniversary as we both really enjoy a good steak. This place definitely did not disappoint! Beef tenderloin was amazing! The servers were so on the ball and it was a great experience!
We had a delicious meal and the service was wonderful. We ordered Oysters Rockerfeller for the appetizer. We had a New York strip and Parmesan Crusted Scallops served with delicious scallops potatoes and fresh green beans.

A quick story. I was at a local bar yesterday, and when I asked to close my tab, the bartender handed me a card that had exactly the same design as mine, and the same first name, but someone else's last name. It turned out he'd mistakenly given my card to another patron, who was long gone.
I locked the card immediately, and later got a notice from my bank that someone had tried to use my card at Alexander's. I was five minutes away, so I drove over in the hopes that I could catch the other Joe while he was still there.
It was *very* busy in the restaurant, but the hostess went and spoke to all the wait staff while I talked to the bartenders, and it turned out that the unsuspecting Joe *was* still there, and we got everything resolved with no fuss and a couple of laughs. No harm done, and now I have a funny story.
I have not yet had the chance to eat at Alexander's, but I'd like to give a very sincere thank you to the entire staff for taking the time out of their busy evening to help me resolve a stressful situation.
The wait was long. Make reservations!

My stuffed shrimp was wayyyy overcooked. It looked like I was served a black tire! With all the hype, I expected more. Someone needs to watch what is served.

I am not joking when I say that this is one of the best meals I have had in a long time! They started with the warm Italian bread which was perfect. We enjoyed the escargot appetizer which was served inside a puff pastry and it was absolutely amazing and different than any other restaurant where I have ordered escargot. The creamy mushroom chicken soup was so flavorful and amazing. My wife had the swordfish topped with crab meat and she absolutely loved it. My ribeye was cooked to Perfection and the au gratin potatoes were perfect. Our waitress Claudia was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and not overbearing at all. The only negative I can come up with, would be that we were seated outside in a covered patio with a view of the next door neighbor house and their dirt Mounds but the food was so good that we didn't care! Highly, highly recommended!

Really disappointed, do not recommend. We went here for a special date night at the recommendation of several family members who raved about it, and we’d never been. The appetizer special was great, but everything else was terrible. Slow, inattentive service. Server seemed overwhelmed. Ribeye was overcooked, sent back and replacement was not a good cut with no flavor. Seafood cioppino was also overcooked- dry, tough shrimp and lobster, mushy pasta, oily sauce- couldn’t eat it and wish I had sent it back. The lady next to us actually sent her shrimp scampi back for the same reasons and was equally unimpressed. Maybe an off night, suspect main course was under the lamps too long because the pasta came out exceptionally hot. Overall an expensive disappointment. :(

Bar tender seemed overworked and stressed. Things improved once we got to our table.

Food was very delicious. Classic High end restaurant with good size portions. Restaurant was really loud so better to get there at 7:30 and enjoy your meal as people are clearing out. Reservations are essential. Call early in the day or even days in advance. It’s a popular place. Great date restaurant. If you don’t have a reservation and have to wait for a table the bar is a nice option. With drink, appetizers, main meal, and wine with dinner, the bill was over $120 for two.
