Service was very slow. The restaurant was teeming with staff yet you would have thought there was only one waitress working. We sat 10 minutes before waitress came, the whole time the hostess and other waitresses walking by us like we were in a blind spot. Ordered “bottomless coffee” but cups sat empty until our food arrived. When I wanted bill, had to wait another 15 minutes. We were in restaurant for 1.25 hours and barely had table service. Wasn't a big restaurant! You could observe all the staff standing around talking. Food was good! But with a family of 4 paying 75 dollars for that service level not worth it

The restaurant is beautiful and peaceful, just perfect! While it is rather minor, the waitstaff forgot to refill my requested beverage until nearly the end of our eating. The restaurant only had 3 other tables, so not a case of being too busy. In a restaurant of this caliber and price, I expect nearly 100% every time. Aside from that, we were very pleased with our choices: salmon and French onion soup.

Food at The Charmant was excellent. Not only in taste, but presentation as well. Waitstaff throughout the establishment, not just the restaurant, are kind, accommodating, and knowledgeable. We come for a special night out and will always choose The Charmant.

We dined in the dining room for dinner and lounge for breakfast- reservations mandatory. The service was friendly and prompt. The salmon and chicken were cooked perfectly. We also tried the vegetarian mushroom dish which was good but not the same level as the salmon and chicken. Bone marrow appetizer and creamed greens were wonderful. Breakfast salmon Benedict was also delicious. Great ambience

The food was very good - we were there for brunch. The menu is a bit limited but we all found good options for our meal. The croque madame was excellent and flavorful. The fries were thin cut, crunchy and salty goodness. The shakshuka was pretty good, but not as much “sauce” as elsewhere. It was pretty chunky with onion, and less saucy, but still decent. The service could have been more attentive. We didn't get refills on coffee and iced tea. The table next to us got constant refills on mimosas. The ambiance of the restaurant was very pleasant and upscale. All in all, it's possible we will return if we visit the area again.

Our appetizers were French onion soup and crab cakes ~ absolutely delicious! Our entrees: chicken breast, surf and turf and scallops ~ MOUTHWATERING AND DEVINE! Our server, Luis, was exceptional and it was the best Christmas dinner!

We went on Christmas Eve and the ambiance was amazing with the music and the Christmas lights outside. It was very busy so service and the bar was a little slow but the server was apologetic. Good food and the Wisconsin Old Fashioned was delicious and they even brought out the lunch special for my daughter who was not into the Christmas food special. Extremely happy with our experience.

We were there for Sunday brunch on Xmas eve. The room was quiet, tasteful, the menu varied and we very pleased with the service, attention and quality of the food. Strongly recommend the mushroom tartine for vegetarians.

Excellent food. Excellent s. It was our anniversary and they had a card for us, gave us a dessert on the house, and a free chocolate to take home to our son. I don't drink so I ordered a Shirley Temple and it was the best I've ever had. Everything was perfect.

Took 2 hours to get our dinner. Tables around us came, are, and left before we got our dinner. When dinners finally were served, they came at different times, so we didn't eat at the same time. Our reservation was at 6:30, we sat at 6:35, it seemed like the waitress just kept overlooking us. 45 minutes for our appetizer to come and another hour for our dinner. kitchen stafff was standing our talking and cleaning at the end of the night, and we had no dinner yet. we if our kids with us, they were so patient, but by 8:30, we were too tired to eat. scallops and salmon came out cold. no apologies from waitress. restaurant was not very busy. no big parties. bartender was excellent at the bar for a pre-dinner drink and appetizer. we will not return for dinner again and would not recommend. frustrating for a special family christmas dinner we had made reservations 2 months in advance.

Very underwhelming. Needs a rethink on the menu. Probably would be busier at lunch with better food. Fries were cold when they arrived. BLT and burger are incredibly greasy. Burger bun was soggy.

We love staying and dining here. The restaurant is perfect, no matter what you're craving. We have had breakfast, lunch, dinner and Happy Hour here and have never been disappointed. Last night we were fortunate to have Iris take care of us at dinner, she's friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and has a great sense of humor. The food is perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. I had the Seared Salmon and my husband had the Scallops. We both savored every single bite. As I said, never a disappointment here!

We enjoyed lunch with a view and excellent service. We started with the, Niçoise Salad, it had fresh tomatoes, green beans, hard boil eggs, fingerling potatoes with a light vinaigrette dressing and perfectly balanced. The Charmant burger is always good and served frities. My salmon was cooked as ordered... delicious.

Not sure what was up with the service. Seated for over 40 mins before we were able to order. Told someone would be over with bread and it never happened. Asked our waitress for bread and she brought over 2 rolls for our table of 5. Food itself was good. However, if spending $300 on dinner would like at least some service.

Always a favorite and especially around the holidays with the light festival on the riverwalk. Food was excellent. Bar and service was a little less than their best but still good. Had a couple with a kid who was out of control and his parents were ok with that. As a parent of 4 I get it. Not doing anything to try to at least contain it at a rather upscale restaurant is just wrong. Plenty of other choices in LaCrosse.
