A gem in the midwest! The food was exceptional. Some of the best flavors in every dish. My partner ordered the walleye and unfortunately it was way over cooked and inedible. The manager graciously discounted
Couple dishes. But everything else was prepared to perfection. If you're a foodie you do not want to miss eating at Sagra!

Phenomenal the vodka pasta was amazing we will be definitely be back again it was delicious
Sagra is an Italian Eatery above Piggy’s on Front Street in La Crosse. It was recommended to us by several residents. It did not disappoint. We started with an Arancini appetizer. We have had arancini before, but NEVER like this. It’s the best we have ever had. Instead of being rice heavy, it was cheese heavy. They were almost like a Wisconsin cheese curd. The pecorino, a mixture of Italian cheeses, was melty and delicious, especially dipped in the buttermilk dipping sauce. We also ordered the special appetizer, fried wax beans. The breading was very light, almost like tempura. The dipping sauce added the flavor. They were good, but the Arancini definitely stood out. For entrees we got a crawfish dish and a chicken dish. Both were generous portions, which allowed us to have leftovers for lunch the following day. The Crawfish Fra Diavola was filled with crawfish and was very flavorful with fresh ingredients. The Chicken Scarpariello was delicious. The polenta was rich and creamy. The chicken comes bone in and skin on, which keeps it juicy. This dish also had Italian sausage and fresh vegetables. I really enjoyed the Italian sausage as a contrast to the chicken. The only disappointment was when we asked the waitress what 5 dishes were on the “chef’s market menu,” she didn’t know and really wouldn’t elaborate. I wanted to try that, but at $58 per person, the requirement for full table participation, and no information, I wasn’t willing to take the chance.
Food was too beautiful not to take a picture! The appetizer we got had these wonderful scallion flowers.
Alla vodka was very good I ordered it without the meatballs to make it vegetarian.
Pistachio dessert was also delicious! 10/10
Classy dining- eclectic menu- delicious food!
Don’t expect any menu items from Olive Garden.
It was a bit different when deciding on what dish to order. Their menus change depending on fresh available ingredients.
We had 2 people, ordered2 dishes and shared. Delicious.
We had the salted caramel tiramisu! Wonderful! Plan to splurge on dessert!
This is upstairs, I think an elevator was there in the building.
Staff were friendly- decor was interesting. Dining room had good natural light from large windows. Seated both large and small groups.
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner at Sagra! Excellent food, service and drinks. The Alla Vodka pasta is my favorite! Always a changing menu and frest ingredients. It's nice that they take reservations as well. Highly recommend.
It was meatball Monday when we went and the meatballs were awesome. Also really enjoyed the whipped ricotta, Bianco pasta, and the amazing caramel tiramisu. Fantastic meal overall.
This is a must visit. Amazing menu that's all quality over quantity. Staff is engaged and helpful, you feel it when you walk in. Plus orange wines! ❤️
The food is decent and excellent for the La Crosse area but would be above average in more competitive markets. The food is on the slightly bland side and meat isn't cooked like you'd expect at a great place (on the dry/overcooked end for both chicken and pork)
The portions are quite large and it's almost family style rather than individual settings.
Worth the stop but don't expect to be blown away
I discovered Sagra thanks to American Express and Resy. This is easily my absolute favorite restaurant in La Crosse, and the finest dining experience in the city. The food is incredible. Fresh, local ingredients and impeccably prepared. The menu is wonderful and has some outstanding, unique and delicious offerings. Great wine list, excellent cocktails and the root beer is a must try. Staff is amazing, classy and very attentive. Great for date nights, business dinners, or happy hour cocktails. A truly memorable experience and highly recommended.

Great Italian food.
Sagra... more like Slowgra. 25 minutes for a tap beer, over 45 minutes for two salads, and food arrived after an hour. This may not be the servers fault, but the lack of hustle from all workers made it a lack luster experience.
Starters are the way to go. Showed up quick and well worth the value.
The atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant was wonderful- because of the mood lighting and personal tea lamps on each of the tables it felt private and romantic, but also the dining room filled with people all enjoying great food and drinks made the vibe feel, easily enjoyable and fun! The food was perfectly executed and beyond flavorful! I would love to go back just to try all the other delicious sounding things on the menu. I was very impressed with Evan, our waiter, he was attentive, knowledgeable, very kind, and overall made the experience even more wonderful! Would highly recommend!
SAGRA is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in (kind of feels like a speakeasy as it’s upstairs of Piggy’s), you’re welcomed like family, and the atmosphere perfectly balances warmth and sophistication.
The food? Outstanding. Every dish is crafted with care, and you can taste the quality in every bite. The flavors are bold yet refined, with an emphasis on fresh, seasonal ingredients. Whether you’re indulging in a multi-course dinner or simply savoring a perfectly prepared entrée, it’s clear that the kitchen operates with precision and passion. Compliments to the chef for designing a menu that’s comfortable but yet brings a new level of cuisine to the tired La Crosse food scene.
The drink selection is just as impressive. Thoughtfully curated wines, creative cocktails (classics with a twist) , and expertly poured spirits make every pairing feel intentional. If you appreciate a well-crafted drink, SAGRA delivers on all fronts.
And the service? Impeccable. The team is knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely invested in creating an unforgettable dining experience. They anticipated our needs before you even realize them and do it all with an effortless grace that makes the entire evening seamless.
SAGRA isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just looking for an exceptional night out, this place has exceeded our expectations every single time.
