I visited for a business dinner with colleagues on a weeknight. We were seated quickly in the main floor dining area, and our server came by soon after. She was attentive throughout the evening's meal.We had appetizers, and then our main courses. The food was very good; I enjoyed my steak, which had just the right amount of char to its exterior without being tough inside. We also ordered desserts to go, which came promptly. It's clear to see why this is among the best restaurants in the city. I recommend it.Parking: There are free parking lots on both the east and west sides of the restaurant, as well as on-street parking nearby.

Vegetarian and went with a group. Believe it or not the veggie platter and salad bar were fantastic. Whole cooked and well seasoned vegetables like artichoke, acorn squash, potato, and more. Cozy historic building to enjoy the meal.

I'm typically only here once a year for a work party, and every year is a completely different experience. One year it's amazing, the next year it's just okay, and this most recent experience was arguably bad. My medium steak was borderline well done, with a smidge of pink in the center. They only brought one basket of bread for the table. Almost everyone else's steaks were over cooked, they ran out of items and didn't make people aware until food was already coming out. I know I'm speaking for a few other people at my table, but the experience at this restaurant is getting worse every year. I know it's hard to serve a large party, and mistakes can happen, but I also know they can serve up some amazing food. I hope next time my experience is better.

Wow they get packed fast! Arrived right at 5pm and and the parking lot was half full already. We got seated right away, regardless of how busy it already was. Or waitress came by, gave us water, and greeted herself (Riley). We already knew what we wanted so we asked if she could take our order right away if she wasn't busy. Which she graciously did. My husband and I both got the 12oz prime rib. I definitely love the salad bar. Everything was very organized, cleaned and well put. Service was great. It was nice to see that they accommodate large parties as there were three large family gatherings next to us. For the price and portion, to service and cleanliness, The Freight house is great and perfect for a date or any occasion.
