“I worked here when I was 15 and I have always bragged to my husband about her fish fry’s. Well now that we moved up here, I finally got to show him how good it actually is. Last Wednesday as we went to pick up a vehicle we had worked on, we decided in the snow storm to stop. Conversation was great, brought back old memories, and food was fantastic just like I remember. My husband agreed and can’t wait to come back. Thank you for everything and we can’t wait to bring friends back to enjoy it as much as we did!”

“We have lived in the area for 9 months now, we are not big drinkers so we do not come into the bars often. We have had your fish fry to go a couple of months ago, which was delicious. Tonight I decided I was not cooking, so my husband and my father in law and myself decided to have supper here tonight. Bartender was nice and funny. We bought a round of drinks for the patrons in there. Everyone was nice and friendly and we will be back. Food was delicious, and the friendly atmosphere was delightful! I have been a bartender for 26 years and enjoyed the funny comments and we enjoyed the food. Thank you again for having a good establishment.”

“My parents live in West Bend and had been gushing about this place. They were excited to take us here last night for dinner. When we arrived, the place was packed, even on a dark, rainy Tuesday night. We were quoted 30 minutes before we could be seated. It took around that long, but we just chatted and had some drinks while waiting. Once seated, our waitress was very attentive, and we were able to place our orders right away. Two of us in the group got the Beef Tip Special, one of us got the chicken parm sandwich and one of us got the Buckthorn Burger. As a side, the chili was pretty good, with huge chunks of meat. She asked if we wanted cheese and onions on it, and we said yes, but they didn't bring it out that way. Oh well! The beef tip special was the winner of the evening, by far. For a bar, in the middle of nowhere however, the place had some good food. Would I go out of my way to eat here again...probably not, but if my parents would like to choose to come here again, I would go with them if asked. I think trying this place in the summer would be fun, with all the outdoor seating.”
