The Merrimac Scoop Reviews
great place to stop when we are out boating. Super sad they no longer carry Sassycow ice-cream. 😢 please consider switching to an ice-cream brand that is corn syrup free. Friends with allergies can no longer enjoy ice-cream with us because of the ice-cream brand change 😞
We stopped by for a simple ice cream treat and found so much more to enjoy! they have a wide variety of choices for ice cream, even Hawaiian Ice. We're surprised to find that The Merrimac Scoop has amazing pizza too! The thin, crisp crust is delicious! The Mac and Cheese pizza is a must have! The Merrimac Scoop is an ice cream stand with a great selection of unique flavors and friendly service, related to the Atwood Scoop in Madison, WI. They serve homemade ice cream with many flavors, including the well-known Blue Moon, which is not commonly found outside Wisconsin. The area around the stand features plenty of outdoor seating and picnic tables, allowing visitors to enjoy their treats in nice weather. Customers have praised the ice cream for being amazing and having many choices, often returning for seconds. The outdoor space also offers yard games like cornhole and a view of the river, making it a pleasant spot to relax. The stand is conveniently located near the ferry crossing, which takes about 9 minutes one way. Visitors can park at the Merrimac Scoops and walk on the ferry, watching it go back and forth while enjoying their ice cream. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the location provides a great place to enjoy a sweet treat and the beautiful scenery. Although food, mostly pizza, is only served on weekends, the ice cream alone makes this spot a popular destination.
