This food was so-so, I feel that Applebees has gone downhill over the years. I used to love going there and I loved their food and I especially loved their Lemonade's! But they have definitely changed and I went there just because it was convenient to meet a friend. Our server was so so, I don't know if he was new, he kind of seemed like he was new. One of my biggest pet peeves is when servers are too attentive, like constantly and mean like every 5 minutes, literally...
The food was good, but I got halfway through my Oriental Grilled Chicken Salad before I realized there was no chicken hiding in the salad. This was a pick up order, so I didn't feel like driving 20 minutes back just for chicken. Normally, I have no issues with my orders at Applebees, so this was a disappointment.
Your staff should not be trained to shake the customer hand. It is not sanitary when you are about to eat your meal. The trainees should not be drilled about their training in front of the customer. They should be taken off to the side for a discreet conversation. A person's dignity is key.
