Has done an abysmal job keeping prices low for students. Almost all prices are 30-40% higher than they were in 2016-2018

This place used to be called ICU Deli, in case there's any confusion; which would be understandable considering it's still labeled that on some maps throughout the building. Also, checking the maps and occasional signs is a good idea if you're unfamiliar with the place, the basement level it's located on is a bit of a labyrinth, I got lost my first time trying to find it and quickly found myself wandering among labs with increasingly intense-sounding warnings referencing pacemakers/metallic implants and proximity, etc on the doors. It's a small, typical UW-union grab-n-go. There's a selection of packaged basics, coffee/hot water, cooler items, the usual. There used to be a stamp card for coffee purchases, but I haven't checked to use it recently so don't count on it still being available. Though, if it is, like all stamp/punch cards, of course I'd recommend it if you think you'll be back. Otherwise I believe using a wiscard or student ID (maybe to actually purchase, not merely present, but It wasn't clear) should get a discount. I wouldn't say it's a great place for meetings, dates, or quiet study. Try to avoid peak times, like between class blocks, unless you really enjoy crowds. Overall it's a convenient-ish, if a bit cramped, spot to grab a quick snack or drink if you're in the building and short on time. Basically, it'll keep you from starving or caffeine withdrawal, but those with higher expectations may be underwhelmed. Last I checked, the nearest alternatives were in Ingraham Hall or Nichols (quieter), but places tend to vanish, so please check before going and cursing me if it's closed, or a quinoa vending machine or some such.

The Med Sciences Badger Market is not too bad. There are a lot of seating and a separate sandwich station.

Got food poisoning from prepared foods in the cold case. Was the only thing I ate that day, and symptoms started within 8-12 hours. Avoid the pesto tortellini pasta salad unless you want severe vomiting, cramps, and diarrhea for 2 -3 days.
Logan Gibson
Good cheapish food for college kids
sawyer dettlaff
Best market on campus
Alex Sainterme
Decent coffee somedays; mediocre food
Sarah Oliver
Reasonable prices, best Mocha on UW campus

Smallest market ever, complete chaos ensues when a lunch rush comes in. Good location to get decent enough food though. Go early, they run out of prepared hot food fairly easily.

Food is okay/glorified TV dinner food, but it's cheap. However, the ordering process is entirely disorganized and inefficient. Workers often seem overwhelmed and submitting your order is not intuitive at all.

Nice little place to grab a few things or a coffee.
Great general store to get basic things like gum or a snack while at union south
Get there early if you want the full menu of options.
