Friday, 6:00pm: Full bar vs one bartender on State St; horrible. At least the poor girl bartending by herself on a Friday night kept a positive attitude. What an embarrassing way to run a business.

What a menu! The only thing missing is some of the hardest stuff to find out there, but if you wanna try something new or different this is the place to go!

Best whiskey bar in Madison hands down, and the beer selection doesn't disappoint either.

People are just cool here. The staff, the patrons. Everyone is just nice and chill.Cheap enough beer. Sports. Music.Idk if they have food.I genuinely love The Cask and Ale.

Lovely spot for a cocktail or three. Magnificent whiskey selection, but also a great variety of beer, wine, and cocktails. The draft cocktails change seasonally, which is fun to see. Despite being a whiskey fan (and they do have the most exquisite collection) my habit has become to have a split of prosecco before shows.

Superior beer and whiskey selection. Like stuff you don't normally see in bars. Balvenie 14 Yr. Peat Week for example or Alaska Brewing Company's Amber Ale. Full menu here Good service. Prices are what you would expect for higher end booze.

Strong drinks. Great tap old fashioned, I prefer sour. Nice patio. Dark vibe inside. Good service.

We liked this place so much we came here twice during our visit to Madison. The first visit was better, world class bartender, perfect cocktails! Old Fashioned and Negroni. Next visit, a Monday night, had the B team, but still good.

First impressions…the bar is nice and clean. They are across the street from the Overture Center so it would seem like a great place to step across to visit before a show.We walked in 30 minutes before our show hoping to catch a drink. The cocktail lineup seemed interesting. However, there was only one bartender on a Friday night at 6:30. We sat at the end of the bar without being acknowledged for 20 minutes. We ended up leaving without ordering or even talking to anyone.I wouldn’t characterize our experience as rude…it certainly was reasonably busy…all of the bar stools were filled, but the place was not packed otherwise. The bartender was working on other drinks and was by herself.I’d call this an incomplete review. I hope we have the desire to come back and give the place a try again.Parking: It’s on state street…
