Came here on a Friday Night and we were the only ones in here. The food was really good and strongly resembles Mexican cuisine. Carne Asada was nice and tender. Plantains were good.I'd pass on the drinks though

Only about 1/3 of this post will be about the food.I came here with a friend of mine. We each brought our young daughters to have dinner and wanted to go to a spot we’ve never eaten. When we looked up ‘new restaurants in Madison, Remedios popped up in an article because they were having a grand re-opening. I had been here at night for dancing plenty of times but had never dined. We walked in to what I can best describe as whimsy. There was a clown making balloon animals, a chocolate fondue fountain with strawberries, and goodie bags for kids. There was a slight wait, but the sweet waitress let us sit in the elevated VIP section while we awaited our table. One of the staff members’ three year old boy came up to our girls full of love and started playing with them. There were a lot of families and the kids were all running around playing as parents ate and socialized. The DJ was setting up for a band later that evening. The food was all W’s. I ordered the Baho (Nicaraguan beef, yuca, and plantain wrapped in a banana leaf), my friend ordered the whole fried fish, the kids had taquitos, and we ordered the boquita nica (plantain chips, steak bites and fried cheese) as an appetizer. All of it was savory and flavorful. In all my times going here at night I had yet to go to eat. Will definitely be back. The food is fantastic and the staff is kind.

This restaurant impressed me from the first time I tried it, the taste of the food is 100% Nicaraguan, you can see that they prepare it with care and love for their customers. The people who serve are very friendly and are always attentive to what the client needs. I am happy that we now have the first Nicaraguan restaurant in Madison and in addition to pure quality, of course I will return and I will recommend it to everyone I know, they deserve all the success possible.

Super expensive everything from the appetizers to the main course... I ordered roasted chicken and to start the price was 25 dollars... so I asked if it was breast that they served and well it was half the chicken... and when It arrived not even half of it, super expensive for what I had to eat and also the chicken was poorly cooked and super expensive...I don't recommend it.

I've been to Nicaragua. Cocina Nicaraguense is the type of food, and flavors, authentic to the food everyday people eat in Nicaragua. You want to experience Nicaraguan cuisine? Go here. It's great

We visited Cocina Nicaraguense this evening. The food was very good and the staff was friendly and helpful. The food was authentic. Haven't had anything like it since my last visit to Nicaragua. Our Nicaraguan friend joined us and was very impressed with the authenticity of the food. We will definitely return!
