A really good choice if you're looking for a delicious, filling meal

I’m very disappointed to report that I called on this fine Sunday evening to place an order for carry out and was treated quite rudely. It sounded like the restaurant was busy but this should not be a pretense to be disrespectful to a customer. I asked for menu advice and was told not only that they were quite busy and that the person helping me was “doing many things at once,” but also that she ..”can’t tell me what to eat.” If I was ordering in my native New York I would have given her a piece of my mind, but since I am happy in Madison Wisconsin I restrained myself. Dobhan serves quality food and it’s always been a nice atmosphere, though not so busy. Being busy is a good thing, if you can’t hang working in a busy restaurant you shouldn’t be working in service. The good news is it was the impetus for me to cook my own tasty vegetarian dinner. So thanks for that saved me some money, but you lost a customer along the way.

Would I go back? Well, no. Was there for brunch, with a large group, and there were things that looked super tasty, and there were things that were somehow oddly lacking. The stark differences between portions and saftigkeit, were bizarre, from meal to meal. I got the more disappointing variety, as you might guess from the star rating. It sounded exotic, it sounded promising, but I can do better at home very easily.

I celebrated my 69th birthday.there with my two daughters . On of them gave me a greeting card which we placed it on the table. I ordered A potato croquet as part of my dinner. The wait person saw the greeting card. And she “nice cat” referring as to the image on the card and she said is someone celebrating a birthday? I said that I was.

Fantastic food! Just like eating at a family member's kitchen - so welcoming. Great in winter for warm, comfort food. Highly recommend saving extra time to dine as table service is usually very casual.

Like eating inside a museum! They created a dish to meet my step-father's highly restrictive diet. Delicious food, kind, friendly staff, visually fascinating and engaging artwork and sculpture from Nepal and other parts of Asia.

Visited here from out of town...I've eaten all sorts of Indian & Nepalese cuisine in most major US cities. This rendition is far too expensive for what you get: very watered down Nepalese/Indian spices and slow service to boot.

I was back to Dobhan just last night and thought I would do an update. Although my previous review and this one remain the same star-rating, I want to point out that service was much better this time than last. The quality of food remains excellent. I tried the Kathmandu Lamb this time around and I really doubt I will ever have anything other than that going forward. The lamb was incredibly tender and sooo flavorful. Definitely recommend.

The food is so good RICK SPRINGFIELD eats here! Yes, it's true. Friendly, happy and knowledgeable staff. Sometimes can be a little slow, but the beautiful decor compensates for this. Decor? Tibetan theme with colorful art. Real hardwood tables, booths and woodwork.

Very nice experience. Curry was good, I needed a little extra spice but they were able to accommodate. Prices was good I found it reasonable and portion sizes were perfect. Thought the service could have been a little more attentive but overall a nice experience. I would go back for other menu options, everything looked good.

Always excellent food and service. The Coconut Chicken is my favorite. Only item I e not been impressed by was small plate Curry Shrimp. It was tasty but too pricey for small number of shrimp.
