Ordered Walleye for take out and was not impressed. The fish itself was great (hence the 2 stars), but when you think and want a fish fry you think delicious beer batter. There was absolutely no flavor in the batter, I kept wanting it to be there but it just wasn’t. $18 is pretty average these days for a FF, but there are way better ones out there that I will get over this one any Friday of the year. Also found it strange that a place with fish fry in it’s name doesn’t have the most traditional of fish fries in Cod.

Got the chicken tenders Togo for $14, which came with a lot of fries Cole slaw and a biscuit. A lot of food for that price. Food was ready 5 minutes after I ordered which was surprisingly fast. First time ordering here just have to change when I order.Fries were super hot and crispy.I’m not a dill fan and the chicken tenders have a hint of it but I’m a fan. Really juicyThe biscuit was the best piece of bread I’ve had as a side. Texture of corn bread grilled like grilled cheese.I would pay to have this turned into a grilled cheese.

This is a different serving model. Went on a Friday night and the four of us enjoyed 3 different fish fry choices. The food was very good. You place your order at the counter and listen for them to call your name. Took about 6 minutes for our food to be ready. We ate at the attached Muskellounge bar. The bar and restaurant are separate entities but are clearly connected operations.

We also had the cheeseburger and to be honest we could have gotten a better one at Culver’s. The only thing we thought was pretty good was the biscuit.

Finally got to try Hanks fish fry! I had the walleye. One gigantic walleye portion, like the side of a fish. Perfect waffle fries. I don’t love their tartar sauce, but it’s fine, and tartar sauce is such a personal preference thing. I’m sure other reviewers have described it but you order from the app and can stay and eat at Muskelounge lounge or take your food to go. Our food seem to be ready nearly instantly, despite it being very busy. We were a little worried about having a place to sit, but things just kind of seem to work out there.Vegetarian options: Beyond burger, chili cheese fries, vegetarian chili

Brutally messy burger served pink. Fries had been fried a while before we ordered. Front of house was dark with chairs on tables. Had to eat in the Muskie lounge. Might be back at the bar for a beer but will pass on Hanks.

I wanted to love Hanks - I adore Mint Mark and the Muskellounge, and the burger I had during my first foray there was delish. I was super excited about the fish fry, so we ordered the walleye meal last weekend. Nice big filet, average waffle fries. The problem was that the walleye was so fishy-tasting and smelling, it was basically inedible. I'm a Wisco girl who has had many a fish fry in my day, and never have a had a piece as fishy as this one. Super bummed!

As a group, we enjoyed the burgers, chicken tenders, and Beyond burgers. The biscuits and waffles fries were also delicious.
I used to enjoy getting a (very pricey) gluten free double Hank burger and chili cheese fries here - but was told today they just switched over to beer battered fries. How disappointing and not considerate. It doesn’t make sense to keep the gluten free bun if it’s the only thing actually gluten free on the menu (aside from the coleslaw).

I have been told the walleye was amazing, a little expensive however they make up in quantity. I was also told the smash burgers were really good. The burgers are not made in house (Very odd), although they are OK but lack that fresh fried pizzazz. The walleye that they served me was not walleye and lacked any kind of flavor or quantity. I mentioned this to the young man at the counter and he assured me it was. One bite and I went back to the counter. He once again assured me it was. I did not feel like fighting with him over his obvious lack of knowledge. Now the waffle fries are amazing. If we go back it will be for the waffle fries. From what the bartender said, the chicken sandwich is amazing.

Awesome burger and the waffle fries were great. It's a bit pricey, but EVERYTHING is nowadays. It costs $15 to get a combo at McDonalds, so I'm happy to give $20 to this establishment for significantly better food.

I wanted to like this place alot. The fact that it's attached to Muskie Lounge (where you can get great drinks) is a huge win and the seating in the summer is great. That being said, I was sad to find that the food was just subpar, save for a stolen bite of a burger my friend gave me before I went to order. Now, let me talk to you about this bite. It was that perfect butterburger kind of bite with a little crunch, alot of cheese, and all flavor. The bun was soft and everything just melted. I was going to get the burger when ordering, but was distracted by the fish fry. It's also in the name and it was friday, so against my better judgement, I got their fish fry instead. I also got some puppy chow since that is always good, but boy was I wrong. The fish fry was soggy, unflavorful, tartar sauce was good, and the fries were just subpar. Like they forgot to season them and were a side show. The puppy chow was stale. Gross and stale, I couldn't even finish it. I expected more for the price. Now, talking about that delish burger bite above, my friend got one and let me have another bite and it was NOT as good. I was shocked! So, I chalked that up to hunger for the first on as it was just, not well executed. No where near as flavorful or with the crunch! For the price point, the wait, and the execution, this place is just fine. Good if you're at Muskie but otherwise, would venture elsewhere.
