Love their vegan scones (not usually a scone lover either). Often get a tea and scone or toast with their yummy jam

Not sure what this places rates so high, the food is mediocre at best. My husband had a biscuit sandwich and the biscuit was so hard he couldn’t eat it. I got a scramble that was basic scrambled eggs for $14. The cherry scone was delicious that would be the only thing I would come back for. It is a cute little place but it’s all self serve no waiters. There ade many better places to eat in Madison, even on Willy.

This is our family’s favorite breakfast place and has been for years! Best scones in the universe!
The food quality definitely declined in the past years. But the scones are good!

Really wanted to love this place. I’ve been coming here since I moved to Madison , and initially I was here every other day and then the service and the way things were being done started to change .
For instance , I came in ordered a breakfast sandwich with extra avocado , the male cashier told me they were sold out and that they didn’t have any . A man and a group of others put their order in and shortly we all got our food minutes apart from one another. When the party behind me sat down , he definitely had avocados on his meal . When asked why I was not able to receive any extra , they told me that the guy who ordered behind me was the owner or something. So that was disappointing and quite questionable. Why wasn’t I given extra avocados lol I would have gladly paid for it .
So Over the next two weeks , I often came in and got a toast and some coffee . This particular morning , the female cashier decides to charge me 2.95 for a single piece of toast .
Not really sure why after ALL this time , I am now being charged 3 dollars for lukewarm toast .
Sadly , I won’t be patronizing this establishment anymore until there’s some uniformity with the customer service and pricing . It’s quite disappointing how other patrons were treated much more fairly than I was .

It's a throwback to my childhood in the 1970's. Great food, great bakery items, great vibe. It's one of my favorite breakfast locations in Madison.

Lazy Jane's is anything but on a football Saturday. Expect a long line to order food and a chaotic scramble to get a table. The reward for that is delicious baked goods and freshly made brunch food and hot, strong coffee. You will be bussing your own dishes too. Not a negative, but as in life, clean up after yourself

Missed order notes, Bland, and the worst “French Toast” I have ever had. Won’t be going back!
