Food is excellent and under rated. Service can be a bit hit and miss but that seems to be the case at most places now a days.

Bomb! New ownership as of Jan. 1 and the food is phenomenal. If you wanna try something super different and spicy I recommend the Taco Árabe. Soooooo good. Service was awesome shout out to Jason!

First time dining here. Staff was friendly. Food was awesome. They have a taco Tuesday here and the salsa has a great flavor and kick.

Got an order of 4 tacos for takeout. The young man working the counter was very nice. It was 5pm and I was the only one there. The presentation of the tacos in the Styrofoam container when I got home was nice (pictured) with the two lime chunks. Limes were a bit dry, and I wish they'd do one chunk per taco. Tacos themselves were great. I got tinga, chorizo, pastor, and one other. Shared bits of each meat with my 7 month old son, the tinga was his favorite.

I have dined in twice in the last month, both times all was excellent. Highly recommend the huevos rancheros, the tamales, and the chiles R. Ingredients are excellent, and they are sourcing great stuff for what they don’t make in house. We were stuffed after our lunch today so couldn’t do dessert but next time for sure. Spoke to Jason a bit after our meal-New operators are working very hard to make this go! Highly recommend!

Tacos were standard but extremely filling. Margaritas were also standard, but the pina colada marg was shockingly good. Removed one star because we expected a bit more from their guac (also, walked here from my house - not sure if we'd go out of our way to stop here, but would go again since it's so close).

really great food.
😋😋😋
I really loved their salsa. I can’t explain what set it apart from others but it was great. Some of the chips were overly salted. My two tacos were very delicious. Much better than the ones I’m eating now from a different place. It inspired me to write something positive about Madre vs a complaint about what’s in front of me currently. The service at Madre was ok. Very friendly but you needed to wave down someone. That’s fine. The atmosphere wasn’t very cozy. But if you have good company and good food, you can ignore that. My friend had enchiladas with three different sauces. She said the mole was really good. I will definitely return. Again, I’ve had lots of salsa in my life, and theirs was exceptional.

I’ve been wanting to try Taco Madre and was finally able to get here. We ordered the choriqueso was sizzling and SO incredibly flavorful! I ordered the Enchiladas a la brasa, shredded beef, which was also very enjoyable! Very nice location, parking on-site. Staff was very friendly. Will be back!

We stopped here late Sunday morning for breakfast to day of the Madison Marathon. Everywhere was crowded, this place was empty. That could be because they're new, or because they're not good. We gave it a shot.
A girl whom looked to be middle school aged was the only person working that we could see. She brought us menus, chips and salsa.
My partner and I both ordered chilliquiles.
We asked for the eggs to be over medium instead of over easy. The server asked us to repeat that because she clearly didn't understand it (I don't believe it was a language issue) and then told us she'd have to check to see if the kitchen could do that. I didn't explain that it meant keeping the eggs on the griddle for thirty seconds longer.
I tried to order one of the protein side dishes listed at the bottom of the menu, but she told me we don't have that.
I pointed it out on the menu.
She looked blankly at me and repeated we don't have that.
I tried to order another one listed in the menu.
Don't have that.
What do you really have that the menu says you have?
She said I'll go ask.
None of the side dishes listed on the menu are actually available for purchase.
When the food arrived it looked more like nachos than any chilliquiles I've ever had, but maybe that's a regional thing, I know that recipe can vary quite a bit. It tasted okay.
The eggs were over easy.
Under the same circumstances (some event has every other place we drive by with a line out the door) we might give this place another shot.
It was very inexpensive, so there's that.
