Even though it was a very busy night (220 covers, we were told) due to Graduation Week in Madison, the Statehouse was on its A game. The service was excellent, and the food was 4.5 out of 5 stars (nicked it .5 for the Butter Board app that sounded better than it was). Our group enjoyed four different entrees, all cooked to perfection. The chicken dish was especially delish. We definitely recommend this restaurant.
Came for a birthday lunch on a Monday with my parents and loved it! They came in from out of state and I thought they'd enjoy the lake view. The menu doesn't have a ton of options, but my dad said it was one of the best burgers he's had (and he is very stingy on compliments!) Mom had the avocado toast and I had the spiced chicken sandwich, all were delicious. (Avocado toast had prosciutto) Chicken sandwich had a great sauce, arugula, Swiss cheese on a pretzel bun....
Nice setting, excellent drinks, average food, poor service. I don’t think I will be back as so many other options in the area. Other average to poor reviews are consistent with my experience. Too bad as it could be a “go to” place in Madison.
