What a joke. First off it’s in the basement of the courthouse. Secondly flies in the bakery case and nothing pictures online available. All the donuts and pastries. Not worth the walk and having to be screened with everyone showing up for their court dates.

I love the location in the city county building. Great coffee, salads, breakfast items and really good selection of snacks!
I recently worked with Ugly Apple Cafe for my wedding catering - the whole team was absolutely fantastic!! Laurel was easy to talk to and accommodating throughout the entire process. The food was delicious!! Candace and her team at the venue were prompt and kind. Thanks so much!!!
Ugly Apple Cafe is an absolute gem! I never pass up their ham and cheese croissants when I'm near the City Hall location. The staff is so warm and inviting which compliments the even more incredible pastries. Every bite tastes homemade in the best way. It's truly a perfect balance of creativity and comfort. Their commitment to quality (and reducing food waste!) really shows.

If you work at the court house, find yourself on jury duty, or need to cater an event—look no further. The Ugly Apple has their brunch, lunch and pastry game dialed in. I’ve eaten their catered breakfasts, ordered specialty pastries (try the pączki when on offer), and had a several delicious salads and drinks. Always a great experience and wonderful to work with their team. I also love that their business model is centered around sustainably sourced ingredients. If you are planning a brunch wedding/baby shower, corporate event, or just looking for a tasty bite while at the courthouse, this is your spot!

We had brunch from the Ugly Apple food cart at the Monona farmer's market. Wow, the food was amazing! Original menu and such detail in the flavors represented. We had french toast and frittata and will definitely go back to try other items!

Ugly Apple never disappoints! Both their cafe in the courthouse & food truck at events are always delicious! If you find yourself at their location at the courthouse, try the burger - you won't regret it!

I’ve had great experiences with the Ugly Apple Cafe, first for coffee and lunch while I was on jury duty, and then with catering for appetizers and cake for my kid’s birthday party. The food was well prepared, fresh, very reasonably priced and perfect for the occasion. They carefully listened to my instructions on the birthday cake - it was delicious and beautifully executed. Thank you!

Looks can be deceiving, I was with a party of 9 for lunch there on 6/3/25. Four of us got food poisoning. My episode was the worse.

I had the ugly apple paczkis per recommendation and they were delish! Thank you for keeping up this tradition
Unhappy pączki experience.
First impression: small for pączki, closer to elongated donut holes. First bite: immediately bite through a thin layer of pastry to filling which accounted for 75% of the volume of the thing. I have a hard time rating the texture of the dough, given how little of it there is. Really remarkably undersweet, both from a pastry and filling standpoint. Bears minimal structural resemblance to the authentic Polish item, but more disappointing that it was not a sweet treat. These observations were equally true across the three flavors I sampled.
I was sad after eating because in my heart I am missing the flavors of Poland.
