The vibe is classic Wisconsin dive. Very enjoyable. Was sitting right at the center of the bar and had to yell in order to get the attention of a bartender. It was not overly busy. Bartenders kept walking past our empty glasses and ignoring. Maybe they were having a bad night, but that was not our fault.

The UpNorth bar is its own special experience. Depending on the person this may be a great or terrible place to visit. It's a local watering hole. Nothing super special about it. If you know the local crowd who frequents this establishment you'll like it. If you don't, and have no interest in that.. don't come here. It's usually young d*** men. With that said.. its a good bar and can be fun. Service is resonable. They have two pinball machines! Outdoor seating available. Next to two other madison classic establishments.

Simply put, one of the best bars in Madison. The Up North Wisconsin feel right here in downtown Madison. Love the family over at Up North especially Teresa and John! Easily 5 stars.
