When you walk in it’s a market up front. Go to the right and there’s a dining area. Lots of choices on the menu. I wanted to try the Birria Ramen. Husband got the beef burrito. Also ordered a blended mango margarita non alcoholic so I could take it to go!

I call to make order and they tome in 30 minutes will be ready when I get there and ask for the food I order by phone the guy in the cashier he tried to treat me like a fool, since the person who assisted me over the phone was a young woman who, apparently, wasn't trained to place orders—and she never actually placed mine order in the system I waste my time waiting for the order and not only that they do not even apologize they just ask me do you what to wait again we can place your order that was not professional and to bad since I was there before for many times and never have this experience please make sure to train your cashiers so they can take serious the job since the customer time is very important.

Authentic, laid-back, and so delicious.
Zavala’s Market & Taqueria is tucked inside a Mexican grocery store, which already tells you everything you need to know. We went for lunch and it was busy with regulars, which is always a good sign.
The vibe is super relaxed. Service was attentive but not over the top—just easy and comfortable. They communicated well and even asked about cilantro preferences (important if you’re one of those people with the soap gene).
The food was delicious, affordable, and exactly what you want from a spot like this. Bonus: you can grab groceries on your way out.
We’ll absolutely be back.

One of my favorite taco shops in Madison, amazing tacos and the best birria I’ve had outside of Mexico! Super friendly service, graciously remade a taco for me even though it was my error to forget to request removal of the cheese. We’ll definitely be back again.
Great tasting food, nice/clean/relaxing seating area, friendly staff, and they have a small grocery store next to the restaurant to buy their homemade salsa.

This place is a hidden gem, with amazing authentic food. Everything I've tried so far, is full of flavor that stands above others. Burritos are awesome, and the menu is full of options I'm excited to try out. The menu on their website isn't the full variety of options on the menu when you are in the restaurant, so suggestion to the owner is to update the website to increase business. The employees are very friendly, and the restaurant has a nice welcoming vibe. Plus, they sell the signature red hot salsa in their attached grocery store.
