We always stop here on our way to visit our son; not anymore! Walked in and tried to sit at the corner of a table because others left. Bartender screamed over the bar, “you can’t sit there” that is for a bigger group. You could not politely ask instead of screaming over the bar? We wanted to eat as well, guess not!

We are from Janesville and own a cabin on Pike Lake. We decided to take a nice fall afternoon drive to Mercer about 30 minutes away. I had seen in “Up North Action” magazine that there was an ATV/UTV Pumpkin Run going on in Mercer, so we went to see what that was about, and we figured we would stop for lunch somewhere in Mercer. Well, needless to say, the city was jam packed. I googled bars/restaurants in Mercer and it gave me a lot of choices. I am sure glad we chose to go to Around The Corner Pub. Sure it was busy as we expected, but we were seated right away (there was only 2 of us) and promptly waited on. We ordered food from a very friendly waitress and the food arrived in a fair amount of time and was absolutely delicious. Larger groups began to arrive, so I guess we had gotten there at a good time. I just saw one waitress handling the people who came to eat, and she did a wonderful job. We will definitely go back. I hear they’re famous for their broasted chicken 😋

Stopped in when we got to town for dinner and drinks. The Olive burger was delicious and we also ordered the beef sliders which were also good. Great local bar atmosphere and the service was great too. Had a part of our group join us close to closing time and they graciously stayed open a little longer - thank you Becca and the kitchen staff who took orders right up to kitchen closing time. Will definitely go back!

Onion rings, jalapeño poppers and burgers were the highlights for our group. Awesome food, good drink prices and a classic Wisco corner bar vibe. Got the hot beef dinner. Comfort food to the max.
