A look of a bar on the outside but the food was amazing. Certainly wasn't a wisconsin tavern on the inside- at least on a Saturday night. Prime rib was perfectly cooked. Great drinks. Tables off the bar are a unique setup but seem to work great.

Had reservations on a Saturday evening. Food was outstanding: Happy Hour prime rib for$25! and amazing menu of fish, seafood and much more. Service was great! Stopped in half an hour early to have a pre-dinner drink at the bar, only to be told there is no bar to sit at. If you have reservations, which I would HIGHLY recommend on a Saturday, especially in summer, don't go early to have a pre-dinner cocktail (thankfully our reservations were for 30 minutes after they opened so we could be immediately seated).

First time here and we were BLOWN AWAY at how good the food is. First, this place is so cute. Beautiful plants outside and inviting. Inside is even better with quaint tables and fantastic service. We had the steak bites and they melted in your mouth (I did take a picture of them but they were half eaten by then).👌🏻 Everything we ordered was a special. Gorgonzola stuffed steak with amazing pasta + Mediterranean seafood stuffed portobello mushroom. Plus salad or soup and fresh warm bread. It’s a lot of food with a great flavor and quality ingredients. I highly recommend folks try this place. It’s our new favorite place in the Northwoods!!

For fine dining (and other) my husband and I definitely eat here more than any place in the area. He’s obsessed with the chargrilled prime rib on Saturday nights with the lobster mac side. I’m a fan of almost any of their vegetarian or seafood options…LOVE the stuffed portobello! They also start you with a large loaf of delicious bread and soup or salad, YUM! There is only one chef and few staff—and it is a supper club—so come patient…I promise the food will be worth the wait!

Absolutely the most amazing food. Lobster Mac & Cheese, prime rib, oscar filet were all beyond words. This place rivals big city fancy dinner places. The atmosphere was great with soft live music in the background. The current 4.4 rating is way low.

I honestly feel shame that I haven’t been to this place more often. I have lived in the area for 6 years and worked directly in Mercer for 3 of those. Had an Anniversary dinner here on 12/27 and everything was outstanding. The service, the ambience and most of all, the food. We shared a few appetizers, the famous Gilroy Garlic Wings (to absolutely die for), and the Rosemary Parmesan Fries (hand cut, and fantastic). My better half went with the Prime Rib and Baked Potato, and I opted for the Seafood Alfredo(shrimp, lobster, scallops) and we both got the soup du jour which was Lobster Corn Chowder. Everything was top notch, we both had a couple alcoholic bevvies as well and the entire meal was very reasonable for how good the food was for the area. Not to say there’s bad food in Mercer, I really haven’t had a bad experience anywhere but this was supper club echelon food. Fantastic experience, will definitely be back. Highly recommend reservations even if it’s just for two. Thank you Heart of the North!

3 of us had dinner here. It is always wonderful. 2 of us were served the third was told there was a kitchen mishap. 20 min later his food came out. It was the wrong order! No adjustment.

I get to Mercer a few times a year, and when visiting this quaint little town a trip to Heart of the North is a must. The food is amazing! The Seafood Bake, Prime Rib and Lobster and Mac & Cheese are phenomenal. Our service has always been great, drinks are wonderful and we love the entertainment! Heart of the North is a real gem!
