I eat at a lot of restaurants across the country. Birch made my top 5. Chef Kyle runs a tight ship and the attention to detail and execution comes across on every dish. I ate the tasting menu which is a must try if you are a first time visitor. The only negative in the entire building? Two early dishes were a touch over seasoned. I spent most of the dinner giggling silently because of how incredible the ingredients and techniques brought these bites to life. Birch can hold its own against any of the big names across the US. This is a Michelin restaurant in the making.I added the marinated beets to my tasting menu and these beets are the closest I've had in the Midwest to beets straight from the farm on the west coast in San Diego. The smoked steelhead was my favorite of the night with the pork chop a close second. Melts in your mouth with the perfect balance of sweet, sour, salty, smoky, bitter..The pistachio cake topped with ricotta ice cream and garnished with freshly harvested, local cherries? Yep, as good as it sounds. The orange cube in my pictures as a last bite? Gotta leave some mystery. The wait staff and host were attentive and quick, the bar had no trouble creating off-menu drinks that were delicious, the bathroom was charming and clean, and the kitchen only allowed perfection through the pass. Rarely will restaurants get all of these elements firing in sync. Hats off.

Absolutely fantastic. It was completely obvious why Birch has been as acclaimed as it has been.We had the carpaccio (salty, bright), the fazzoletti (delicious ragu), the chicken under a brick (perfectly cooked, delicious crispy skin), and the pork chop (absurd, perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned). I tell people that pork has such a low floor and a high ceiling (and that the band between the two is really narrow), and that was what I'm talking about when I talk about how amazing pork can be.I'm already dreaming about going back.

Birch was truly a perfect 10 out of 5! One of the 2 here in Milwaukee that deserves a national recognition! The general manager frequently stopped or passed by looking to see what we needed. Our waitress came by always at the right time to fill our glasses and clear table of finished dishes...the experience was impeccable! Every. Bite. Was. Heaven.

This was a wonderful meal with fantastic service. Trey recommended perfect wine pairings for our meal and it was start to finish, a great experience. The dining room is a bit loud with the open format, but that's more of a personal preference than anything.

I live close to Birch and didn’t know what I’d been missing all this time.My husband and I took some guests in from out of town, and we all loved everything that graced the table. I’m 99% vegetarian, so I loved the cabbage starter with raclette and the ricotta pasta. The contramar fish was beautiful, too. The music in the joint was great; I noticed some New Orleans-style big band music, which made for such a unique atmosphere here in Milwaukee.Excellent spot for special dinner, can’t wait to visit again.

My wife has wanted to eat at Birch for awhile, and we were able to get reservations last night. We sat at the "Chef's Table" so she could watch the food preparation in action and we had the curated Tasting Menu. First off, everything on the tasting menu was outstanding. It was so good we probably could have eaten another round even though we were definitely full. The staff was extremely friendly. We talked with our server, the maitre d, and the chef himself! Kyle even took a photo with my wife who is a big fan of Bravo Top Chef & award winning chefs in general. It's really great to get a restaurant like this in Milwaukee. Just a must-visit spot for anyone who loves amazing food and atmosphere.Parking: It took two laps, but we were able to get street parking nearby.

I just had the best time ever. I'm so happy that I chose to visit this restaurant on my vacation. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes good food, and in particular, enjoyed the tasting menu. I was worried about doing the tasting menu as a single person, but the staff made me as comfortable as can be. It was perfect!

Probably in my top 5 meals. I had the trout crudo starter, which tasted amazing and looked beautiful. I also had the walleye and they couldn’t have cooked it more perfectly. Drinks were creative, tasty and beautifully constructed.

Excellent food, but it was very overpriced for the portion size (walleye entree). Wine menu is grossly overpriced for what looked like a 4oz pour. Probably not the place you want to eat at if you are really hungry, unless you are willing to drop $100+/head to feel satisfied.
