Canal Street Café Reviews
Went in at 9pm. Ordered steak and eggs and wanted a cup of coffee but was told no coffee available because they have already cleaned it up for the night and they don’t want to waste a pot of coffee. Wait what?!?!?!
Horrific service. Steaks were all over done. Sent one steak back twice and it was over cooked both times. Meals were to come with soup. Soup was brought out half way through the meal. Had to beg for the horseradish and dinner rolls that were supposed to come with our meal. When rolls finally arrived we had no butter. Very disappointing since we came to celebrate a graduation. The Canal Street Café offers delicious food, especially at their breakfast buffet, which includes a variety of tasty options. The cheesy scalloped potatoes are a highlight. Recent reviews highlight that the food alone makes it worth a visit, with desserts receiving high praise for their taste and presentation. The service can vary, with some servers providing exceptional friendliness and kindness, while others may need improvement in areas like refilling drinks and being more welcoming. One server was praised for going above and beyond to make things right when orders were mixed up. Customers appreciate the quick seating process, even during busy times like Mother's Day, and note that the staff can be very attentive. Some guests mentioned that the restaurant's hours are tight, and the staff sometimes seem rushed or unfriendly, especially when closing time approaches. Overall, the food is a major attraction, and the service quality can fluctuate, but the experience often leaves customers satisfied. There have been suggestions to offer more non-pork meat options.
