We lived in Wauwatosa for over 30 years and Gilles was our family's choice for burgers and custard. We still make the trip to Gilles to pick up a quart or more of custard ... it's the BEST!
In 1985 my parents had me and this place is where my dad (then 17) toiled away so I could eat and have diapers. Took the bus here with me and dropped me off at the sitter on the way til mom was done at big boy. This place holds a special place in my heart and although my dad didn’t like closing he always spoke highly of the quality of ingredients and food standards here which is important because in my experience working various restaurants it’s the ones that held that standard...
