Busy Sunday morning, greeted by the fragrances of ham and freshly baked bread. Oh, and the cookies and the cannoli that literally makes my eyes roll into the back of my head because it's so darn good. My husband came in and spent almost $50 on baked goods. They were delicious. The service wasn't very good. The young lady had already started taking care of the next customer before we could finish checking out. When we were done she didn't bother to say thank or have a nice day. We didn't feel that we mattered. We were the only Black people there. We will not be back.
This is the BEST bakery! Little has changed there since my childhood (and that was a long time ago). The smell, the cookies, the bread, the cakes and pastries - they all taste the same. I have been a customer of Sciortino's my whole life. In high school, I would get off the bus to grab a cannoli before school. As an adult, even though I live states away, I make a point of stocking up while I'm home. I traveled around Italy to try to find a cannoli that was better...
