Not being from the Midwest this was my first time at a Taco John's. I was able to practice my Spanish with the employees but that was my choice, they speak English. The boss burrito was pretty good. Fresher than Taco Bell. Tater tots were average but there is only so much you cav do to make fast food tater tots exciting.
When I go back, I will be getting drive thru. The inside has an odor that was kinda like sewage and kinda like they poured cleaning chemicals on a surface (like metal?) that they shouldn't have.

I ordered steak soft tacos but found chicken tacos in my bag when I got home. The were tasty, but were very skimpy on the fillings. For $4 per taco I expected more than what I would get at a Taco Bell! I expected more from Taco Johns.
