The New Glarus Brewing Company offers a fantastic brewery experience with the best beer in Wisconsin. The main site is under construction, but visitors can enjoy the Riverside location. The facility features a self-guided tour and expansive outdoor spaces where guests can relax and enjoy their beers. The brewery boasts a fantastic selection of pints and samplers. Visitors are greeted with friendly staff who are helpful and eager to chat about the renowned Spotted Cow and other exceptional brews. The drive to New Glarus from Madison is beautiful, showcasing quintessential Wisconsin scenery. Many guests enjoy the variety of beers available, with the Strawberry Rhubarb beer being a favorite among visitors. It's a great spot for friends and family to gather and enjoy a memorable experience. The backup setup is fine, and after tasting, the gift shop is open for all their beer styles and gifts. After paying for a tasting of 3 beers in a take home glass, a token for a beer at local restaurants is provided. Spotted Cow is a destination beer, very malty, and only available in Wisconsin. Visiting the New Glarus Gift shop will give the most options for seasonal stuff. The tasting option is $8 for 3 pours, a good way to try different options before buying bottles or cans. The Stone Soup (Seasonal) was a favorite, but you can't go wrong with the original Spotted Cow. The majority of seasonal beers were in bottles, coming in packs of 4 or 6. Prices are comparable to big box stores, but with less variety. Bringing an empty suitcase is recommended as they don't ship their booze. A visit to the factory (gift shop) is a must. Spotted Cow on tap, direct from the source, is a must-do. It's a super cool spot with great beer. The efficiency of the line allows for quick service. However, there is no indoor seating, and the selection was limited, with a wish for Moon Man on tap or another pale ale or IPA.
