“One of my favorite stops- who can resist 60 different mojito options under one roof? Definitely try the hummus, and if the weather is decent sit outside on the deck and watch the pelicans, jumping fish, eagles, etc. There is also a pool table, darts, gambling machines, and good music on the sound system.”

“Prairie House is our absolute favorite place to eat in town! Nothing beats them, seriously... I love "Taco Tuesdays" (and Thursdays) the best where they serve the most amazing Mexican food! The Steak fajitas are my favorite, and I'm pretty sure I could live off their jalapeño poppers! I also love their Steak, Chicken Tenders, Chicken Parm, and so many other things. We honestly don't want to order anywhere else, and we don't 🤣 I cannot recommend this place enough! Literally,— try everything on the menu! 10/10”

“Created a pizza. Nice to have customized options fie crust choice, type and amount of sauce, and amount of toppings.
Tried Ceasars salad. Appreciate choosing low calorie dressing and ability to have a dressing packet to determine how much to put on (instead of having dressing on the salad).”

“great place to stop when we are out boating. Super sad they no longer carry Sassycow ice-cream. 😢 please consider switching to an ice-cream brand that is corn syrup free. Friends with allergies can no longer enjoy ice-cream with us because of the ice-cream brand change 😞”
“Best Bar I've ever been too, 100000/ 10 Ellie and hazel are super sweet and Tammy and Craig are really nice.”

“As we celebrate National Heritage Hispanic Month, I call our attention to La Mexicana, my favorite Mexican restaurant located in Sauk City, Wisconsin. You can eagle watch when seated at a nearby public park area and have fantastic food all at the same time. Years ago, James and I stopped in and the first thing we noticed was the family all are a part of this establishment. I have watched the young boys grow and mature into fine young teenagers. A couple weeks ago I ordered food and as it was being prepared to go—still do not eat inside restaurants due to COVID virus—I watched a boy wipe down each menu that had been used by the public after spritzing it with a cleaning agent. That regard for their customers along with their tasty creations makes me glad to tip heartily and return often.”

“What a delightful surprise! If you haven't been to Mazomanie to Iron Hop Taphouse, it's time! What a cool vibe and great food and beer. We stopped after a hike and had the best Chicago dog and brat charcuterie board. You can try all the tap beers and/or cider with your Pour Card. Some great Wisconsin choices on tap. We'll be back for the Salvatore pizza pies soon! Loved the games and welcoming crew.”

“Hands down the best Chinese I have had in Wisconsin. Maybe the best I have had outside of NYC. The Moo Shu Pork is beyond amazing. I literally order between $100-$180 worth of carryout everytime I order from them... Just so I can eat it for a week straight. Flavors are on point. The meat is always tender. The vegetables always have the right balance of crunch/tenderness. The sauces are not overly sweet, which is not the case with most Chinese spots. Their "special menu" always hits the spot. And the staff?... Incredibly friendly and accommodating. The kitchen staff is constantly checking the buffet to ensure it is fresh. I mainly order carryout, but the few times I had the buffet, I was more than happy with my meal. Seriously, eat at Number 1 Kitchen. You won't be sorry.”

Still had the salad bar full, fish was lightly breaded and great service as usual !! Great food and drinks. Highly recommend the prime rib on Saturday night as well. 😋😋”

“We had our first dinner tonight at the Old Feed Mill! First, we were so impressed by the cleanliness of the restaurant. The waitstaff were very friendly and the warm homemade bread they serve is out of this world delicious. Our first round of drinks were spot on. The old fashions had just the right amount of sweet with a healthy portion of bitters and enough brandy to make my light weight cheeks flush. LOL! There were 3 different entrees ordered: chicken picatta, deep fried cod, deep fried walleye. Both fish dishes had the deep fried potato slices and the chicken dishes were served with root veggies and rice pilaf. The chicken was so tender and smothered in this light and buttery sauce. The pilaf was very tasty and so were the veggies. Both fish dishes were very delicious with the right portions of fish and potatoes. They also had a side of coleslaw. Everything was gone when we were done (well those of us who ordered the fish). The chicken dishes were so large we had to take a portion home. We’ve lived in mount Horeb for 8 years and this is our first visit. Can’t believe we haven’t found this gem sooner. This is a restaurant we will definitely go back to frequently. The last comment I’ll make is that it was also very reasonably priced. For two people, 4 drinks, 2 entrees, side salads and 1 dessert it was $82.00. That’s typical prices for just the food in some areas of Dane County!”

“Thank you so much to Devin, should be your employee of the month. I showed up with a couple hungry young baseball players 5 minutes before closing and he graciously served us. I've been many other places where they would have said we're closed or had an attitude while the served us, but Devin was kind and made us grrat sandwiches. Thank you Devin!”

“Absolutely the best in the area. Delicious food, super friendly staff, quick carryouts, great outdoor venue for local bands, always something going on no matter what time of the year. Bobbi and Matt have restored this place better than it ever was; lots of local history.”

“Wisconsin's oldest winery--one of the oldest in the country--and our favorite. Prairie Fume has done so well that it has been trade marked itself. The distillery is also a great stop, not to mention the wonderful food in the bistro. On a nice day you can sit outside and enjoy the view of the vineyards. Very highly recommended.”
