“A few months ago, my wife and I attended the Lyric Choir fundraiser, where we bid on a gift basket that included a certificate for a Chef’s Choice Dinner for four.

On July 31, the four of us enjoyed an unforgettable evening at Pekin’s.

The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the meal was exceptional, and the service was truly outstanding—an experience I honestly haven’t enjoyed in years.

The lady that took our money was not polite. When asked about a military discount, she said she would have to get her manger and then continued the transaction like I didn't ask her a question. The gentleman cooking our food was phenomenal! Since it was our first time (and we didn't know about the sauces or which way to enter the cooking area) he took the time to explain the place, the process, and he did it all with a happy personality (he was wearing a mask so not sure if he was smiling). The parking lot they share with other businesses was absolutely horrible. Surprised I didn't pop a tire with the pot holes. Overall, we enjoyed the experience and would probably come back again if it wasn't so far from home. I would say the only thing that needs to be improved (besides the parking lot) is asking if it is the first time dining there, and if yes, then explain how it works.“

“AMAZING food and atmosphere for those who love American-style Chinese food!

The dumplings were so delicious and the dipping sauce was phenomenal (and as someone who has lived in Asia, very authentic tasting).

I got the lo mein and it was PHENOMENAL! So many Chinese restaurants nowadays make it with zero flavor, but this was extremely flavorful. Another thing other Chinese restaurants do is cut the vegetables really big since it’s less work, but all the vegetables were PERFECTLY cut to make it extremely easy to eat with chopsticks and pick up with the noodles.

“My mother and I gave it another try tonight. We hadn't ordered since noticing a gradual decline in the food around a year+ ago. (Take-out & Delivery).
Tonight we ordered:

Salt & Pepper Shrimp
House Egg Foo Young
Chicken Almond Ding
Hot n' sour soup
Egg drop soup
2 spring rolls
4 additional bags of crispy noodle (groceries lol)
s/o real hot mustard
2 s/o white rice

OVERALL the FOOD was ABOVE AVERAGE. Everything ordered was delivered; NOTHING MISSING but the food WASN'T HOT. (Wasn't cold but wasn't hot.)

I passed on the soup, too starchy for me but had flavor was good. The Salt n' Pepper Shrimp was more like Salt n' Saltier shrimp but after throwing a few in with the Almond chicken, it went from FAIL to FLAVOR BOMB.

Best Entre award goes to House Egg Foo Young. It was good, highlighting the sauce.

“Patient, friendly staff. Clean establishment. Everyone had a smile on their face and were willing to answer questions.
The food looked really fresh in the case. We had the orange chicken (my daughter's favorite) which was good and tried a serving of mushroom chicken. (I thought it looked good with the vegetables and wanted to try something new.)
To be honest I was a little disappointed in the mushroom chicken just seemed like a lack of seasoning in the sauce and/meat. Wasn't much flavor. I felt the same way when I tasted the beef and broccoli. (I wanted to like it.)“
