Old Mexico Cantina and Grill

First time visitor, newfound regular! Fantastic food, great service and top tier margaritas!

Once the food was ordered, it came out quickly but took awhile for a waitress to show up.

Sadly it's not as good as it used to be

Wow wow wow! Coming from someone who has been brought up around Authentic Mexican Cuisine, let me tell you… this restaurant is as Authentic as it gets (besides mi primas casa). I honestly didn’t expect much being that Door County isn’t your ideal area to have such Authentic Food but wow, I can say that my Chile Verde was probably the most deliciously seasoned and TENDER that I’ve honestly ever had. Just go here. You won’t regret it.

Other-worldly food. I got the enchiladas tapitias and my mom and sister got the quesadillas. Rich flavors, big portions, and just overall some of the best Mexican food I’ve had.

The homemade salsa was excellent, the food portions themselves were generous but very bland and felt the quality was not the best, would recommend they raise the price is a little bit on the lunch specials and make the food a higher quality

Was not happy, they forgot my dinner and did not have all menu items. Quesadilla fajita was soggy.

Server was attentive and very polite. Food was just okay. Burrito Supreme was watery and the tamales were dry. Chips were the thicker ones and bland. Salsa served with the chips was really tasty. I appreciated that the salsa was served in a small carafe with two bowls.

Old Mexico Cantina & Grill was an excellent experience from start to finish. The food came out fresh, flavorful, and in big portions that make the visit feel more than worth it. The fresh guacamole made right at the table was a standout — creamy, bright, and the perfect way to kick off the meal.

The margaritas were huge, icy, and strong in the best way. Service was friendly and fast, and the atmosphere had that warm, authentic vibe that makes you want to stay longer.

Only small note: the “spicy” salsa wasn’t as spicy as expected, but still tasty.

Overall, a fantastic spot with great food, great drinks, and great energy. Definitely coming back.

Good food overall

The Salsa was amazing! Loved the passion fruit margarita. Our food was hot and fresh. We got the Nacho Cheese Burritos and Choripollo. Everything was delicious! We'll worth the stop! Everyone was raving about their food including the kids.

Fantastic Mexican! The tableside made guacamole was impeccable.

Outstanding prices, food and service. Every time I come to Sturgeon Bay, I make it a point to stop at old Mexico and take home a meal that will last me at least 2 days.
