My wife, a life long friend, and I went to the Hammond for a bucket list steak for me. I was anticipating a good steak the whole time. We were not disappointed. I believe that was the best steak I had ever had. I had the 11 ounce Filet Mignon which is a thick cut and hard to cook as ordered. The Chef did a perfect job, just the right color inside. Great taste. Highly recommended.
Food was great, service was good. Only a couple of things regarding atmosphere.. you have to climb a good amt of stairs to get up to the supper club. They are a little steep. If you have an elder person with you that has mobility issues this could be a challenge. No wheel chair access either. The only other mention is when we got to the top of the stairs their was a distinct odor and not a good one. Some might describe it has a bad seafood/fish smell or just an older building...
We come every couple of months for prime rib and shrimp. The queen cut was rare and tender. The shrimp was cooked to perfection. The cocktails were generous pours and unexpectedly fresh. This is a quaint old steakhouse and the wait staff is effecient, professional and hospitable. It's not as expensive as some chain steakhouse. It's an old-fashioned meal served with a dinner roll a side salad and a baked potato.
