I showed up on a Tuesday late afternoon and they were closed. I was looking for lodging for 1or 2 nights. The phone call went unanswered and I didn't receive a call back until after I'd secured lodging elsewhere.

Dear Carla

Stopped in to catch the end of live music in the bar area. Great service and friendly staff. Very welcoming, would love to hang out at the bar again. My glass of wine was perfect!

Food was great. Service was fast and the waitress was attentive. The music was too loud and constant.

Dinner was amazing! The catfish cakes are always yummy, the spinach artichoke dip was delicious, and our meals -- shrimp and grits, peposo, chimichuri steak -- were excellent, and of course, the service was on point.

Very small menu. Very clean and the staff is friendly. Food is just ok nothing I would boast about.

On NYE I had the walley, wild rice and broccoli. Their rice was really good, but I wish I could get a whole plate of walley!

We loved our visit. Dinner was topnotch. The butternut squash soup To Die For. Ambience was absolutely lovely. Our server was great. Live music enjoyable. We also stayed nextdoor in a luxury suite. Amazing river view location. Don't miss the sunset. A few misses in the room, flat pillows and a lack of hot water for the tub, but not enough to make it a bad time.

Located on the banks of the Mississippi River, the 175 year old Trempealeau Hotel is the definition of nostalgia. The Juniper suite was comfortable and featured an in room jacuzzi tub next to the cast iron stove. The large picture window allowed a nice view of the Mississippi from the comfortable couch in the sitting area of the room. It's a cute little town with many buildings from the late 1800s. Unfortunately the day we were there, the restaurant and saloon was not open. But we look forward to returning when they are and enjoying the live entertainment. We visited a nearby cafe for some great burgers on the recommendation of Amy at the hotel. Overall a nice stay.
