What a wonderful experience! Large rooms, heated bathroom floors, comfy beds and pillows, historic and eclectic vibe. Coming from Holmen, it was the perfect overnight trip to be able to go to the theater and be able to enjoy a relaxing night! They really have thought of everything!

What a lovely place to stay in this quaint town! The new owners did an exceptional job of restoring this beautiful building into a fine hotel. Our room was spacious and I loved the bathroom - excellent shower and heated floors. There are many thoughtful touches like the clock that includes wireless charging and a relaxing noise machine if you want! We enjoyed the lounge downstairs and the morning coffee was absolutely delicious! We hope to come back to the area and stay here again. Highly recommend.

Hotel Fortney is a beautiful boutique hotel with an impressive and tastefully decorated and remodeled interior. So much attention has been paid to every detail and amenity in every area, including your room. The beds are so comfortable and the room warm and inviting. Customer service was amazing! Everyone (Brian, Heather, Justin, Brad) was so warm and willing to accommodate any need or answer any question! A huge thank you to every one of you for making our visit special. Most definitely recommend this hotel and we'll surely return!

I loved the Fortney! From the staff to the large comfy room to all the on-site amenities, it was wonderful. The Fortney is a restored old building, and some of the rooms have turrets. There is a bar on the ground floor and a kitchen and laundry on the 3rd floor for use of the guests, including early morning coffee before the attached restaurant opens. All the touches and details and the wonderful people made our stay perfect. I didn't want to leave.

I had a great stay! Everything was recently renovated and smells fresh. My favorite feature was the heated flooring in the bathroom. The bar on the ground floor was great, lots of options. I really loved the guest lounge on the third floor, basically a kitchen stocked with coffee, a fridge, board games, and chairs, great space to relax with other people I traveled with. I also appreciated the water bottle fill station next to the laundry room. The hotel is in walking distance of a ton of great restaurants. Would stay again!

Extremely overpriced. Your paying for history of the building. Stayed in king deluxe. No in room fridge, coffee maker, really no amenities. Unless you go to the 3rd floor. Chain hotels better equipped. Don’t believe because your paying more your getting more.

Great place to stop by for a drink before heading over to The Driftless Cafe. Friendly servers! You can also get a pizza- I'll have to do that next time.

This is a great addition to downtown Viroqua. It begs to be a full service bar... but it's wine, beer and hard cider. There are plenty of choices and the cider choices were wonderful. There's also a list of craft sodas. The space is lovey with various types of seating. There is a wonderful small plate menu which comes from the Noble Rind next door (actually shares a common hall and lobby). The cheese plate we ordered was much more substantial than we anticipated and we really enjoyed it. There are actually several cheese plates to choose from. We'll be back the next time we pass through. If you're in the neighborhood check it out.
