Arepanita's Cafe Reviews
Absolutely delightful experience. Francisco is doing the best he can until he moves his business to Clinton St. I give him credit for operating his business as long as he can while preparing a new location. Very hard worker who makes delicious meals.
Such a welcoming environment and great food. Can't wait to go back, hopefully at the new location soon!
Like the atmosphere, delicious apps , good music , I accidentally tipped 10cents instead of 10.00 but the owner made me aware of it in a nice way

Arepanita's Cafe is a Venezuelan restaurant that offers a delightful dining experience, despite its current challenges. The owner, Francisco, is kind and attentive, working hard to prepare for a move to a new location on Clinton Street, where the business will have better accessibility.
The menu features a variety of traditional Venezuelan dishes, including arepas (pockets made of yellow corn filled with meat or vegetables) and pabellon (the national dish with tender pork, rice, and beans). Customers can customize their fillings and enjoy the friendly service, though there is often only one person managing all aspects of the operation. Francisco makes everything to order, creating a delicious smell while customers wait.
While the food is generally praised for its authenticity and deliciousness, particularly the yucas with chimichurri and the pabellon, some dishes like the arepa with plantain and cheese have received mixed reviews. The cilantro oil is a standout, with customers requesting extra to add flavor to their meals.
The restaurant is very small, but it has a cozy atmosphere. The space is clean and welcoming, though it could use more attention to cleanliness and presentation. The owner's dedication to his craft is evident, but the lack of staff can lead to longer wait times for service and payment.
Overall, Arepanita's Cafe offers a unique and flavorful taste of Venezuelan cuisine, despite its current logistical challenges. Customers who prioritize authentic and homemade food will find a delightful experience at this establishment. It is recommended for those seeking good food and a charming place to enjoy time with friends and family.
