Mandarin Chinese Restaurant

I’m a bit stunned, but mostly insulted. New to Wausau & have heard wonderful things. Today, I stopped in and placed a take-out order. I had the Kung Pao Shrimp and ordered the Pork Lo Mein for my husband. My shrimp was wonderful. However, my husband asked if I ordered Vegetable Lo Mein. We looked through it and there a total of 4 small strips of pork in the entire entree. (In addition, it eas tasteless) I called to tell them about it. I was very pleasant, respectful and professional. The gentleman I spoke to had a brief conversation with the kitchen. He then told me that the order actually was made with Extra Pork. I respectfully disagreed. Then, he again told me that I was incorrect, the dish had extra pork. Essentially, he was calling me out as a liar. I couldn’t believe it. We’ll never go there again. :/

First time eating here and the walnut shrimp was crispy as it should be and portion was good! Very relaxing setting and it was nice to sit by the window with a view.

Literally the worst shrimp and lobster sauce I’ve ever had in my life. It had canned peas and carrots in it!! I threw it out.

My husband and I were in town for a doctor appointment and wanted a good Chinese restaurant and. We found it at the Mandarin. It was clean and inviting. The servicer was friendly, patient and helpful. We each had an egg roll and shared sweet and sour chicken. Sure hit the spot! We'll be back.

It's all very good and if you can't figure out what you want the owner is wonderful. He suggested a dishes I never tried and it was wonderful, shrimp, chicken and steak in a yummy sauce with nice heat and rice. I'm ready to go again soon. Everything is delicious. Dine in or take out you won't go wrong..

La comida tiene un buen sabor, y si no saben que platillo pedir pueden preguntar le a los meseros que les recomiendan, el servicio es excelente son muy amables y sociables los meseros y el dueño también,el lugar es tranquilo y confortable,para los que les gustan disfrutar de una buena bebida ahí tienen una variedad de bebidas.

Quick stop last night 1st time it wasn't bad could use just a little more flavor taste of everything was there but just needed a bit more. Over all nice place owner super generous. Kids loved to fried rice.

Ordered food to go and was nothing like before. Lo mein was flavorless, the orange chicken and sweet sour chicken were exactly the same but with different sauces on the side. It was nothing how orange chicken should be. Very disappointed.

This was one of our favorite restaurants to go to for family dinners out, but no more. The new menu doesn't have many of our favorites. The food we did order was bland and nothing special. Service was uneven, all but one of our entrees was served close to the same time, but the last took another 10 to 15 minutes. The view of the river is still nice and the staff was friendly, but the meal was very disappointing.
